On the evening of June 2, at Ho Chi Minh Square, Dong Hoi city, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Binh province solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 420th anniversary of the establishment of Quang Binh province (1604-2024); 75 years of Quang Binh uprising (July 15, 1949 - July 15, 2024) and 35 years of re-establishment of the province (July 1, 1989 - July 1, 2024).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the ceremony. Attending the ceremony were Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; leaders and former leaders of many central departments, ministries and branches.
On behalf of the Party Committee, government, people and armed forces of Quang Binh province, delivering a speech at the ceremony, Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, said: The anniversary is a political event of special importance, an opportunity for the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Binh to review the heroic history and glorious traditions of the land of Quang Binh, "a land of talented people".
Thereby arousing and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, promoting the heroic tradition and spirit of "Quang Binh uprising", the homeland of "Hai gioi"; solidarity, innovation, creativity, affirming the determination, aspiration and will to rise up to build the homeland of Quang Binh rich, beautiful, civilized, confident on the path of innovation, integration and development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the great contributions of the army and people of Quang Binh to the Party's revolutionary cause and the struggle for national independence and reunification. The Prime Minister congratulated and commended Quang Binh's impressive and comprehensive achievements during the renovation period.
The Prime Minister stated that throughout the history of building and defending the country of our people, despite many changes in boundaries and names, Quang Binh has always been a land of "spiritual land and talented people", with an important strategic position in the country, a key town of many feudal dynasties, a place that witnessed many ups and downs of history, endured many pains of division and initiated the process of expanding the territory to the South of Vietnam...
According to the Prime Minister, on the solid foundation and important achievements after nearly 50 years of national reunification, 35 years of re-establishment of the province, along with the bright future of the country, Quang Binh has a great opportunity to develop rapidly, becoming a fairly developed province in the Central region with a focus on developing services, tourism; clean industry, renewable energy, processing, manufacturing; high-tech, ecological, responsible, sustainable agriculture.
The Prime Minister affirmed that to achieve that strategic goal, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Quang Binh province need to further promote the achievements and results, overcome difficulties and challenges, with a high spirit of determination, great efforts, drastic actions, and constant efforts to strive to improve.
The Prime Minister has set out key tasks and solutions for Quang Binh. These include continuing to promote the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance, self-improvement, rising from the hands, minds, land, sky, seaport, with endogenous strength, without waiting or relying on others; overcoming limitations, weaknesses, and shortcomings; being more proactive and creative; mobilizing the strength of the entire political system and the people in implementing the set goals and tasks, especially ensuring national defense and security; maintaining social order and safety and promoting foreign affairs.
In particular, focus on building mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in developing Quang Binh into a center of nature discovery tourism, an attractive and unique destination of world stature. Promote the advantages of the "Kingdom of Caves" with a system of more than 500 caves, including Son Doong and En caves, "unique" in the world; so that tourism can truly be a spearhead industry, a breakthrough in socio-economic development, associated with community interests, and sustainable development.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also noted: “Quang Binh is blessed by nature with beautiful landscapes, caves, blue sea, white sand, golden sunshine, green forests - these are valuable assets that need to be cherished, preserved and promoted for future generations.”
The Prime Minister affirmed that with a history of 420 years, the spirit of uprising, the value of the "Two Good" movement and the achievements of 35 years of re-establishing the province, Quang Binh is having bright development opportunities. The land of "Chang Chang sand dunes in the midday sun of Quang Binh" despite difficulties and hardships is brave, resilient, indomitable in war and will continue to rise up to develop strongly, contributing more to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, with the spirit of "The whole country for Quang Binh, Quang Binh for the whole country".
