This locality is organizing a peak period to strengthen urban order during the Lunar New Year in the area, focusing on key areas such as Nguyen Hue walking street, Bach Dang wharf park and around Notre Dame Cathedral.
The People's Committee of District 1 said it will strictly handle acts of littering in public places, parking on the road or sidewalk; beggars, street vendors soliciting tourists; performing statues, blowing fire, using skateboards, and electric balance bikes that do not ensure safety for residents and tourists on Nguyen Hue walking street.
During the Tet holiday this year, District 1 organizes the 2024 Tet Street Corner Competition with the theme "Spring Connection, Tet Love", with over 100 Tet corners and 5 spring streets expected. This model has won 2 Ho Chi Minh City Creative Awards in 2023.
In addition, the district also organizes the 2024 Giap Thin Tet folk culture festival at the small island area in front of Ben Thanh market with activities for people and tourists to experience the ancient Tet festival and culture of the Southern region.

As the central district of Ho Chi Minh City, District 1 also hosts major city-level events such as Nguyen Hue Flower Street, Book Street Festival, Spring Flower Festival and Tet Flower Market, Fireworks Display and special art performances to celebrate the New Year.
The entertainment and tourism destinations expected to welcome a large number of people and tourists include Ben Thanh Market, Ho Chi Minh City Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Nguyen Hue Flower Street, Bach Dang Park, Bui Vien Walking Street, shopping malls and museums.
District 1 People's Committee recommends that residents and tourists do not litter in public places, behave civilly in public places; do not park vehicles on the road or on the sidewalk against regulations; do not buy street food to avoid the risk of buying food of unknown origin and not ensuring hygiene.
In addition, the locality also recommends that people do not give money to beggars, fire blowers, and unlicensed performers such as statues, musicians, singers, and dancers; and do not take pictures with costumed characters to avoid being scammed.
