Vietnamese tycoon's Porsche 911 Dakar "crosses continents" for the third time

Recently, Mr. NHA, the owner of the first limited edition Porsche 911 Dakar sports car in Vietnam, continued his journey to explore China on a trip expected to last about 1 month, with a travel distance of over 10,000 km.

And on March 18, 2025, the businessman from Hai Phong shared the first challenges in his third journey with the Porsche 911 Dakar . That was when he moved through Pha Din Pass, at this time the visibility was only 10 m, due to the dense fog.

Pha Din Pass or Pha Din Slope is a mountain pass on National Highway 6 on the border between Phong Lai Commune, Thuan Chau District, Son La Province and Toa Tinh Commune, Tuan Giao District, Dien Bien Province. The pass is 32 km long. The starting point of the pass is 66 km west of Son La City and the end point of the pass is about 84 km from Dien Bien Phu City.

The strength of the Porsche 911 Dakar off-road version is also the key that helps Hai Phong businessmen easily conquer many different terrains, which is the ground clearance 50 mm higher than the standard car.

In addition, the Porsche 911 Dakar can also be raised by another 30 mm in High Level mode. This is an off-road mode, activated via the knob on the steering wheel, which helps the Porsche 911 Dakar fly over high speed bumps and potholes without worrying about scraping the chassis.

Upon delivery, the first limited edition Porsche 911 Dakar sports car in Vietnam was given a new decal set with red and yellow accents, on the car's original GT Silver Metallic paint, the number 19 was added to both sides of the doors and the front luggage compartment lid.

This Porsche 911 Dakar sports car has serial number 1,904/2,500 cars produced globally, in which 19 is the date of birth and 04 is the month of birth of the car owner.

The Porsche 911 Dakar sports car is limited to only 2,560 units worldwide, but 4 units have been brought to the S-shaped strip of land. The car uses a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged, inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum capacity of 473 horsepower and maximum torque of 570 Nm.

This engine is combined with an 8-speed PDK automatic transmission, full-time 4-wheel drive and rear-wheel steering system, helping the Porsche 911 Dakar sports car to easily accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h.
