Witness the McLaren Artura Spider worth nearly 17 billion VND of a Saigon tycoon

Recently, an orange McLaren Artura Spider convertible appeared on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, causing a stir among domestic car enthusiasts. According to research, this is the second Artura convertible to roll out in Vietnam, after the black one bought by a tycoon earlier this year.

McLaren Artura Spider in Vietnam is a convertible supercar from the British brand McLaren, launched in the Vietnamese market at the end of December last year. According to the announcement, the standard version of this car costs 16.99 billion VND, but if it has a carbon package and special paint color, the value of the car can be up to 18-19 billion VND.

The McLaren Artura Spider supercar still uses a 3-liter twin-turbocharged gasoline engine, combined with an electric motor, producing 690 horsepower and 722 Nm of torque. Compared to the Coupe version, the Artura Spider increases 19 horsepower while the torque remains unchanged.

The car uses a rear-wheel drive system, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 8.4 seconds and 0-300 km/h in 21.6 seconds. Maximum speed is 330 km/h. With a dry weight of only 1,457 kg, the Artura Spider is the lightest supercar in the segment.

But compared to the coupe, the convertible weighs 61 kg more with a carbon chassis platform (MCLA-McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture) that allows the roof to be opened without losing structural rigidity. The special feature of this supercar is the ability to open and close the roof in just 11 seconds.

This can be done even when the car is moving, as long as the speed does not exceed 50 km/h. The interior of the McLaren Artura Spider is designed in a minimalist sports car style.

The central entertainment screen is neat with a size of 8 inches, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connection. The 3-spoke sports steering wheel of the McLaren Artura Spider has no integrated buttons, is covered with Alcantara leather and is covered with carbon in the special version. The center console is covered with carbon, arranged with the Start/Stop button, the electronic gear lever with a button and a cup holder.

In terms of transmission, the McLaren Artura Spider uses a hybrid powertrain combining a 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine with an electric motor, for a total output of up to 700 horsepower and a maximum torque of 720 Nm. Compared to the previous Artura coupe, the Spider convertible has 19 horsepower more while the torque remains the same.

Completing this hybrid powertrain is an 8-speed SSG gearbox with an electronic differential, using the electric motor for reverse gear, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3 seconds, with a top speed limited to 330 km/h. In pure electric mode, the car can travel up to 33 km.

Artura Spider is provided with 4 driving modes: Electric, Comfort, Sport and Track. In addition, the car is also equipped with carbon ceramic disc brakes, Proactive Damping Control (PDC) electric suspension system with 3 modes: Comfort, Sport and Track.
