Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission, Deputy Head of Group 2 chaired the discussion.
Attending the seminar were leaders of the Central Economic Committee, members of the Central Theoretical Council, members of Group 2, experts, scientists... Delegates from Hanoi also attended, including Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, leaders of a number of city departments, branches and sectors...
During the discussion, with enthusiastic, objective and scientific opinions, the delegates all highly appreciated the preparation of the draft Report by the group and basically agreed with the content of the Report. The Report met the requirements of the Steering Committee on content, principles, scope and summary method.
The research results of the Group have affirmed that developing a socialist-oriented market economy is a very fundamental and creative theoretical breakthrough of our Party over 40 years of renovation. Developing a socialist-oriented market economy in our country has achieved many successes, bringing about great and very good changes for the country.
However, in the process of developing a socialist-oriented market economy, in addition to the basic achievements and positive aspects, we also have many limitations and shortcomings, as well as facing new difficulties and challenges in both theory and practice. The proposals and recommendations of the Research Group on developing a socialist-oriented market economy in the new domestic and international context will contribute to summarizing 40 years of implementing the Party's renovation policy and building documents for the upcoming 14th National Party Congress.
In addition, the delegates participating in the discussion also made some suggestions on the need to emphasize some more contents, especially the viewpoints and solutions to develop a socialist-oriented market economy in the new domestic and international context to complete the Report before submitting it to the Steering Committee.
The contents of the opinions expressed in the discussion and the written comments sent to the discussion will continue to be studied and refined by the Group to serve the development of documents related to the implementation of the tasks of Group 2 on Summarizing Content 3 - Economy: Developing a socialist-oriented market economy through 40 years of innovation in Vietnam.
