Approval of Technical Support Project for Research on Renovation of Long Bien Bridge

Accordingly, the Technical Assistance project "Research on the renovation of Long Bien Bridge" uses non-refundable aid from the Economic Agency of the French Embassy in Vietnam through the FASEP Fund of the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, implemented in 11 months and expected to be completed in 2025, with a total investment of 710,510 Euros.

The project aims to provide results on the feasibility of research solutions to ensure structural safety and other future uses of Long Bien Bridge, including: Ensuring safety for people and vehicles using the project, including railways, two-wheelers and pedestrians; Highlighting the heritage value because this is one of the typical locations of Hanoi , a historical symbol and part of Hanoi's landscape for more than a century; Research on future scenarios for using the bridge.

Regarding the project scale, Component 1: Survey, data collection, analysis and evaluation; Component 2: Propose solutions for short-term renovation and repair of Long Bien bridge to ensure traffic safety;

Component 3: Research and propose a plan for using the bridge in the future when the national railway line across the bridge is stopped and handed over to the Hanoi People's Committee for management.

The Department of Transport (project owner) is responsible before the law for the accuracy and legality of the information and data shown in the adjustment dossier; organizes the management and implementation of the investment project to ensure compliance with the provisions of the law, the City People's Committee and the Sponsor; manages and uses public investment capital economically and effectively, avoiding loss and waste. Actively coordinates with the City's Departments, branches and related units to resolve difficulties and problems during the implementation process.

Relevant departments, branches and units under the Hanoi People's Committee, according to their assigned functions, tasks and management areas, are responsible for coordinating, guiding and creating favorable conditions for the Department of Transport to implement the Project to ensure progress and quality, in accordance with the regulations of the State and the sponsor.
