On the afternoon of March 11, in the capital Vientiane (Lao People's Democratic Republic), Comrade Sonexay Siphandone - Member of the Politburo of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic cordially received the high-ranking delegation of Hanoi Capital led by Comrade Dinh Tien Dung - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City National Assembly Delegation to pay a courtesy visit.

The delegation included Deputy Head of the Central External Relations Commission Nguyen Minh Tam; Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung; members of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee: Chairman of the Inspection Commission of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trong Quyet, Head of the Organization Commission of the Hanoi Party Committee Vu Duc Bao, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen; and leaders of a number of departments and branches.

Speaking at the reception, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung respectfully conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other senior leaders of Vietnam to Comrade Sonexay Siphandone. Affirming that Vietnam strongly and comprehensively supports Laos' cause of innovation, protection, construction and development, the Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee believes that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the administration of the Government and Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, the friendly country will overcome all difficulties and challenges, and continue to gain even greater new achievements.

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung was pleased to see that the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos is increasingly developing in all fields, contributing significantly to maintaining political stability, national defense - security and socio-economic development of each country. The Politburo, the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong highly appreciated the results of the meeting between the two Politburoes of Vietnam and Laos in 2024 and the 46th Intergovernmental Committee Meeting. "Currently, we are actively implementing the Agreement, including coordinating and supporting Lao comrades in building the Political Platform and building an independent and self-reliant economy," the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee stated.

The Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee highly appreciated the fact that the Governments, ministries, departments, branches and localities of the two countries, despite difficulties, have tried and made efforts to effectively implement the agreements between the two Parties, the Agreements between the two Governments, as well as cooperation programs and plans between the two sides; he was pleased that the two sides have coordinated to complete a number of key programs and projects that are very meaningful in serving the socio-economic development of Laos such as Nongkhang airport, Xiengkhouang hospital... and a number of other cooperation programs and projects are also making positive progress.

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung suggested that Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone pay attention to directing relevant ministries and branches of Laos to closely coordinate with relevant ministries and branches of Vietnam to study and propose appropriate and effective mechanisms and policies to create new changes in economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries; have mechanisms and policies to attract Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Laos; practically contribute to maintaining political stability, socio-economic development, ensuring security and defense and international integration of each country.

The capital Hanoi as well as Vietnam will do its utmost together with the Lao Party, State and People to preserve and continuously foster the special Vietnam-Laos relationship to develop more deeply, practically and effectively in all fields, for the benefit of the people of each country, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung informed Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone about the situation in Hanoi and the good results of the talks between the high-ranking delegations of the two capitals held on the same day. He also stated that the cooperation results between Hanoi and Vientiane continue to be a vivid demonstration of the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos from the perspective of local cooperation. In the coming time, Hanoi will continue to closely coordinate with Vientiane to effectively implement the agreements between the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and States and the Agreement between the two capitals.

Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone expressed his delight at welcoming Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung and the high-ranking delegation of Hanoi to visit and work in Vientiane. He sincerely thanked the leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly and Government of Vietnam for their warm sentiments.

At the same time, he sent his regards and best wishes to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam. Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone highly appreciated and acknowledged the significance of the delegation's visit and work. The results of the talks between Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung and Secretary of the Vientiane Party Committee Anouphap Tounalom; acknowledged and appreciated the results of the cooperation between the two capitals in the past time according to the Minutes of the Cooperation Agreement between the two capitals for the period 2022-2025, especially the practical support of Hanoi for Vientiane.

Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone highly appreciated the development of Hanoi, sharing that he had clearly felt this when he went sightseeing in Hanoi. The Lao Prime Minister believes that Hanoi and Vientiane will continue to effectively implement the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for the 2022-2025 period, and deploy new and increasingly practical and beneficial cooperation contents. At the same time, he hopes that Hanoi will actively share with Lao localities lessons learned in Party building and the political system, economic management, budget revenue and expenditure, building the Capital Law, decentralization, planning with a long-term vision and innovative thinking, building a green - clean - beautiful urban area, security and safety, preventing social evils, preventing drugs, etc.

Thanking the sentiments and encouragement of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung affirmed that Hanoi always gives high priority to important foreign relations of special political nature with Laos, with the capital Vientiane and with Lao localities (especially the northern region of Laos). In the coming time, together with the capital Vientiane and Lao localities, we will strengthen increasingly practical and effective cooperation, in which Hanoi will increase experience sharing in various fields as suggested by the Prime Minister.
