On October 17, in Thanh Hoa province, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (VFU) held a seminar to study and propose solutions to promote the role of VFU in vocational training and development for rural workers.

Over the years, the Vietnam Farmers' Association has actively participated in vocational training for rural workers and achieved many important results, contributing to improving the quality of human resources, solving employment, creating income and redistributing labor in rural areas, thereby contributing to local socio-economic development, industrialization, modernization and international integration.
The Central Executive Committee of the Association regularly directs and guides the Farmers’ Associations of provinces and cities to implement annual targets and plans on vocational training for rural workers. In particular, it focuses on directing the development and replication of agricultural vocational training models, training in small-scale industry, training human resources for craft villages, and vocational training for rural workers associated with models of good farmers in production and business.
Vocational education units under the Association system both directly provide vocational training and organize activities in coordination with functional agencies and businesses to provide vocational training for members and farmers who want to learn a trade in rural areas.

In Thanh Hoa, the Provincial Farmers' Association organized a conference to disseminate the task of vocational training associated with job creation for rural workers in accordance with the direction of the Central Executive Committee of the Association to key officials at all levels; organized training for district and commune-level Association officials to fundamentally change the awareness of the purpose and significance of vocational training for rural workers in the new situation.

At the seminar, delegates discussed issues related to improving the quality of vocational training and development for farmers and rural workers, and service activities, consulting, and supporting farmers in developing production and business; creating conditions and encouraging farmers and rural workers to learn vocational skills, improve their capacity associated with models of good farmers in production and business; expanding career and employment consulting activities, establishing enterprises, transferring production and business models associated with vocational training and development for farmers.
