On the morning of January 3, the Provincial Cooperative Union held a conference to review activities in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.

In 2024, the province had 241 newly established cooperatives, bringing the total number of cooperatives in operation to 1,059. Of which, 740 cooperatives operate in the agricultural sector, accounting for 69.8%. The average revenue of a cooperative is estimated at 850 million VND/year; the average profit of a cooperative is estimated at about 300 million VND/year. The average income of a cooperative member and worker is 5.6 million VND/person/month. The province currently has 215 cooperative groups (THT) with about 840 members participating. The average revenue of a THT is estimated at 280 million VND/year. The average income is over 5 million VND/person/month.

In addition to the sharp increase in quantity, the organization and management of cooperatives have been initially consolidated, overcoming the situation of prolonged losses; cooperative management has had progressive changes towards more democracy and transparency. In the activities of cooperatives, there have been associations, joint ventures with each other and cooperation with enterprises of other economic sectors for mutual development. Therefore, the number of effective cooperatives has been maintained and increased, adapting better and better to the market mechanism. From there, the role and position of cooperatives in the economy has been more clearly affirmed, contributing to ensuring social security, stabilizing grassroots politics and actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the province. The mechanisms and policies of the central and provincial governments have initially had a positive impact, encouraging the development of the collective economy with cooperatives as the core.

In particular, last year, the Provincial Cooperative Union has promoted its role well in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of cooperatives and enterprises. After storm No. 3 made landfall, leaving serious consequences, the Provincial Cooperative Union quickly approached, encouraged, guided, and promoted cooperatives to quickly overcome difficulties and obstacles, and resume production and business; reviewed the funding sources that were not really necessary to transfer the province to focus resources on overcoming the damage of storm No. 3, which was more than 663 million VND.

The opinions presented at the conference also pointed out some limitations: The scale of operation of cooperatives is still small, the capacity of a few cooperatives still shows many limitations; the development of multi-industry production and business strategies is not really effective to meet the increasing needs of members and the market; operating capital is still lacking, in which the mobilization of resources within members and outside the society is still limited; the quality of cooperative products is not high, and competitiveness in the market is still lacking.

The Provincial Cooperative Union Executive Committee awarded certificates of merit to individuals and collectives with outstanding achievements in the production and business movement and collective economic development in 2024.

In 2025, in addition to performing regular tasks according to its functions and tasks, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Cooperative Union will focus on developing specific programs and plans to implement Resolution 31-NQ/TU, dated December 2, 2024 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on the direction and tasks for 2025, in line with reality, ensuring: "clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities" with a "lean, strong, efficient, effective and efficient" apparatus; Successfully organize the 7th Provincial Cooperative Union Congress, term 2025-2030; Strengthen coordination with departments, branches and localities to mobilize organizations and individuals to establish new cooperatives, striving to have 60 newly established cooperatives by 2025. At the same time, proactively coordinate with departments, branches and sectors to advise the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Steering Committee for innovation and development of collective economy and cooperatives of the province on leading and directing the implementation of the Party's Resolution and the State's policies on collective economic development.

Also at the conference, the Provincial Cooperative Union Executive Committee awarded emulation flags and certificates of merit to individuals and collectives with outstanding achievements in the production and business movement and collective economic development in 2024; and launched the emulation movement in 2025.
