Phu Quoc City People's Council unanimously elected Mr. Tran Minh Khoa - Deputy Secretary of Phu Quoc City Party Committee - to hold the position of Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee, term II, 2021-2026.

On August 26, the People's Council of Phu Quoc City, term II, 2021-2026, held the 18th session (special session) to review a number of important contents and elect the leadership positions of the People's Council and People's Committee of this city. At this session, the People's Council of Phu Quoc City considered and dismissed the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Council of the second term, 2021-2026 for Mr. Mai Huu Kich, because Mr. Kich accepted another assignment. At the same time, Ms. Dang Thi Anh Dao was elected as Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Phu Quoc City, term II, 2021-2026. Accordingly, the delegates of the People's Council of this city voted unanimously to elect Mr. Tran Minh Khoa - Deputy Secretary of the Phu Quoc City Party Committee - to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City, term II, 2021-2026. Mr. Tran Minh Khoa was born in 1973, from An Minh (Kien Giang), has a bachelor's degree in foreign trade economics, a bachelor's degree in English, and a master's degree in business administration. Mr. Khoa used to hold the position of deputy chief of office of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee (2016-2020), general director of Kien Giang Provincial Lottery Company Limited (2020), director of Kien Giang Department of Finance (2020-2024). On August 19, 2024, Mr. Khoa held the position of deputy secretary of Phu Quoc City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. Mr. Tran Minh Khoa - the new chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee - said that he felt happy and moved to receive the high trust of the delegates of Phu Quoc City People's Council. Along with this honor, he also felt his heavy responsibility before the voters and people of Phu Quoc. Phu Quoc has been very beautiful and rich in recent times, reaching out to the international community; infrastructure, education, healthcare, etc. have improved a lot. This is a common joy and a source of pride. "Phu Quoc has developed rapidly and remarkably, but there are still limitations in terms of environment, land and construction... These issues have left me with many concerns. We promise voters and Phu Quoc people that we will strive to make Phu Quoc rich and beautiful and become a resort tourism center of national and international stature," Mr. Khoa emphasized.
