People's Artist Tu Long was very happy to receive the Mai Vang Award from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, followed by the Inspirational Artist Award presented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

2024 was a year of great happiness and fulfillment for People's Artist Tu Long, who was appointed Director of the Army Cheo Theatre and also reaped many awards and widespread fame with his show "Brother Overcoming a Thousand Obstacles".

Happy to be recognized.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards, both big and small, but the Mai Vàng Award is particularly special to him. It represents the immense love that fans have for the artist. "The Mai Vàng Award is for the whole village, for all my relatives, for the boys and girls who watched TV all night waiting for their dad to come home," People's Artist Tự Long emotionally shared on his personal page after bringing the Mai Vàng trophy home. For him, nothing is happier than having his contributions recognized and loved by the audience.

In 2024, People's Artist Tu Long was appointed Director of the Army Cheo Theatre.

"If artists always work with responsibility and passion, creating valuable performances and products that are appreciated and loved by the audience, this will create beautiful melodies for life," - People's Artist Tu Long shared.

It's no coincidence that audiences love Tu Long so much. Despite being a colonel, People's Artist, and director of a theater, Tu Long doesn't appear arrogant; on the contrary, he always puts his heart and soul into his roles. Even when accepting the role in "Brother Overcoming a Thousand Obstacles," his focus was on overcoming the challenges he faced. For months on end, every Friday night, Tu Long would fly to Ho Chi Minh City to rehearse from afternoon until night, then fly back to Hanoi on the final flight on Sunday night; and on Monday morning, he would go to the Army Cheo Theater to work as usual. In his view, as a People's Artist, he must live and work in a way that reflects the status and stature of a renowned artist, not just participate haphazardly.

It was also him, in order to keep up with the younger artists, who frequently asked the choreographers for permission to dance and sing more, and to be more sociable with them so that everyone could create the best possible products. The efforts of Tu Long and other talented artists have truly inspired many viewers, helping them understand and love Vietnamese culture and traditional art more.

Every stage of growth is an experience.

People's Artist Tu Long was born in 1973 in Bac Ninh , into a family with a tradition in the arts. His father is Meritorious Artist Tu Lam and his mother is Meritorious Artist Minh Phuc. From a young age, Tu Long inherited artistic talent from his parents and grew up in an artistic environment, being taught to sing Cheo (traditional Vietnamese opera). Even as a student, he boldly participated in television dramas to gain acting experience.

After graduating from the Hanoi University of Theatre and Film, Tu Long joined the General Logistics Department's Cheo (traditional Vietnamese opera) Troupe to pursue his passion for acting. In 2000, he began performing comedy alongside Xuan Bac in the program "Meeting at the Weekend," quickly gaining recognition and affection from audiences nationwide. Many viewers love Tu Long for his role as the Social Affairs God in the "Meeting at the End of the Year - Kitchen Gods" program, and he is also a very famous artist on the traditional Vietnamese opera stage.

Thanks to his talent and love for traditional Vietnamese opera (cheo), Tu Long was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2012 and People's Artist in 2015. Even from a young age, Tu Long was highly regarded for his singing and acting abilities.

In 2024, he received the "Outstanding Director" award and the Dao Tan award for directing the traditional Vietnamese opera "My Company Commander". Prior to that, People's Artist Tu Long made a profound impression with his portrayal of General Nguyen Chi Thanh in the play "A Man as Bright as a Jade" and the teacher Chu Van An. To play the role of teacher Chu Van An, Tu Long had to abandon all his comedic and humorous traits to be serious in his speech, gait, and behavior. Thanks to this role, he won a gold medal, adding it to his collection of medals.

Despite reaching great heights in his artistic career, Tu Long believes that art never has an end point; the path of dedication to art is about doing it until his last breath. He believes that each success marks a step towards maturity, and each step towards maturity is an experience.

Following the resounding success of "Brother Overcoming a Thousand Obstacles," Tu Long continues to diligently practice for "Meeting at the End of the Year - Táo Quân" to bring audiences wholesome laughter on New Year's Eve. Sharing his plans for the coming year, the People's Artist said that he will continue to dedicate himself wholeheartedly to art and to each of his roles.

Tu Long's admirable success lies not only in his solid career but also in his warm and happy family life with his wife, a fellow artist, and three young children. Tu Long says his wife is a woman of few words and doesn't express herself much, but she always does everything for the family so that he can focus all his energy on his art. "That's a silent sacrifice she's made for me. My success is 65% due to my wife's contribution so that I can wholeheartedly dedicate myself to my work," shared People's Artist Tu Long. The male artist admits that he has a love for food and enjoys cooking, so whenever he has time, Tu Long goes into the kitchen to cook delicious meals for his family.
