Intimate approach

The author of "Vietnamese Grace" is Le Trong Nghia (born in 1995), who is also the administrator of the social networking site "Beautiful Vietnamese". With 340 pages and more than 140 entries, this publication does not delve too deeply into a topic, nor does it go into detail with strict, dry arguments, but only tries to present it as briefly and concisely as possible, enough for readers to feel interested and if necessary, they will learn more on their own.

In addition to Le Trong Nghia, in recent times, a number of young authors have also shown interest in the Vietnamese language, among them, author Thuy Dung is known to be very active and enthusiastic. In addition to writing articles for the page “Day by day writing”, she has so far published 4 publications on language, including: Frequently used loan words, Old words still have a bit of this, Today must be expanded and most recently Ancient beautiful words, a collection of words with ancient nuances, beautiful meanings but rarely used today.

With the desire to arouse the love of Vietnamese, encourage the spirit of learning and improve understanding and ability to use Vietnamese, especially for young readers, Kim Dong Publishing House has produced a series of books in the spirit of "Beloved Vietnamese" with typical titles: Stories about idioms, Entering life with folk songs, Stories about English - Vietnamese idioms, Frequently used borrowed words, The West is very strange, Listen, Living with water ... and most recently, From proper names . Most of the authors of these publications are young, from the 8X generation and later.

All publications in this series are presented in the form of picture books or color books with illustrations, the art of the books is carefully taken care of. The investment in quality for this series of books shows Kim Dong Publishing House's interest in learning and practicing Vietnamese. The attractive and beautiful form of the books also helps the books easily reach the public, especially young readers.

Mr. Phan Cao Hoai Nam, editor of Kim Dong Publishing House, who is in charge of the book series “Beloved Vietnamese”, said: “The works in this series not only help readers understand the origin and meaning of words, dialects, idioms, proper names, metaphors… but also guide them on how to use them correctly and flexibly in both daily communication and writing”.

In addition, according to Mr. Hoai Nam, the above titles also delve into the rich and diverse cultural aspects of the Vietnamese language. Each word and idiom comes with surprising and interesting stories, legends, and histories. Readers will discover fascinating and surprising stories hidden in each word, opening up a new perspective on Vietnamese culture.

Contribute to spreading the love of Vietnamese

Normally, when it comes to language research and compilation, readers often assume that they must be experts and veteran researchers. However, according to Mr. Hoai Nam, the series of books that Kim Dong Publishing House has been and is implementing are very practical, close to the reading aesthetics of today's readers. Therefore, the authors can be experts, experienced authors as well as young and talented authors. The content of the books is suitable for most ages and reading tastes. Readers will find old, rare, and rarely used words as well as new, modern, and familiar words.

In addition, the book titles also follow and reflect the constant changes of the Vietnamese language in general, especially in the era of social networks. Young authors, who live and work in the online environment, will contribute fresh ideas to the books, meeting the diverse needs of modern readers. "In the long term, we hope to attract more talented writers, contribute more diverse topics and styles, and have more attractive and unique book titles about the Vietnamese language," said Mr. Hoai Nam.

According to poet Le Minh Quoc, having more young people participating in writing books about Vietnamese alongside experts is a very good thing. Young people have their own approach, their own way of expressing themselves so that their peers can understand and love Vietnamese more. We need to acknowledge that this is a way to spread the love for Vietnamese.

Poet Le Minh Quoc added: “Of course, not everyone can research and write correctly about Vietnamese, this requires a process. But first of all, we acknowledge and support this work from young people. If publications about Vietnamese have this or that problem that is not correct, we will edit it.”

According to editor Phan Cao Hoai Nam, Kim Dong Publishing House, the explosion of social networks has had a profound impact on all aspects of the Vietnamese language, both positive and negative. One of the notable points is the situation of mixed words, incorrect words, and incorrect meanings in Vietnamese. But at the same time, the need of readers to understand and use Vietnamese correctly is greater than ever. Our books on Vietnamese hope to contribute to meeting that need, becoming a reliable, useful, and timely reference channel for Vietnamese. From there, contributing to the preservation and development of the Vietnamese language, which is also contributing to the protection and construction of national culture. This is an important task for bookmakers in general.
