Parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory
The 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) is one of the very important political events that the Party and State leaders pay special attention to. In particular, the parade at Dien Bien Provincial Stadium on the morning of May 7 is a highlight. This is considered the core content, aiming to demonstrate the force, affirm the significance and great historical stature of Dien Bien Victory.
The parade will involve artillery, air force, marching troops, and standing troops, totaling more than 12,000 people.
The highlight of the parade begins with 21 volleys of fireworks to the background of the National Anthem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Then there was a performance by 9 helicopters carrying the Party flag and the national flag flying over the stage. Next was the performance by the parade group (4 ceremonial groups, 24 groups of army, militia, police) and the parade group (9 groups of veterans, youth volunteers, frontline workers, workers, farmers, intellectuals, youth, women, and ethnic groups of the Northwest), and finally the performance by the art group.
The program also elaborately recreates a part of history through images of bicycles - a special "army" in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign...
Program "Hanoi Days in Dien Bien"
To celebrate the major holidays and anniversaries of the capital and the country, towards the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the program "Hanoi Days in Dien Bien" is scheduled to take place from April 26-29.
The opening ceremony of “Hanoi Days in Dien Bien” will be held at 8:00 p.m. on April 26 at 7/5 Square in Dien Bien Phu City. The program will be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television, Dien Bien Provincial Radio and Television and a number of Radio and Television stations in provinces and cities across the country.
Within the framework of “Hanoi Days in Dien Bien”, there are main activities such as on the morning of April 26, Hanoi city leaders visited the Martyrs Cemetery (A1, Him Lam, Doc Lap, Tong Khao) and visited revolutionary historical sites (Muong Phang historical site, Dien Bien Phu Historical Museum, Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument, A1 Hill, De Castries Bunker...); attended the inauguration of Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu Primary School.
On the afternoon of April 26, gifts will be presented to families of policy beneficiaries, outstanding meritorious people and children in special circumstances; Hanoi city leaders will visit and work with Dien Bien province.
From April 26-29, there are expected to be 100 booths introducing culture, tourism, agricultural products, and typical traditional craft villages of the Capital at 7/5 Square in Dien Bien Phu city; displaying "Documentary photos associated with the content of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory" at the Dien Bien Phu Cultural and Tourism Information Exchange Center.
Film Week Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory
The Film Week celebrating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory is expected to be organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Dien Bien province from April 24-30 at Dien Bien Phu Cinema.
The opening ceremony of the Film Week is scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. on April 24 at Dien Bien Phu Cinema. Immediately after the opening program, films will be screened to serve the audience, such as the documentary “Memories of the Firebearers” and the feature film “Peach, Pho and Piano.” At the same time, in the lobby of Dien Bien Phu Cinema, there will be an exhibition of documentary photos of Vietnamese Revolutionary Cinema participating in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
The film crews will interact with the audience at Regiment 82 - Division 355 - Military Region II at 8:00 p.m. on April 25 and Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted at 8:00 p.m. on April 26.
From April 19-30, mobile film screenings will be held to serve the people at the following locations: Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted on April 19 and 20; Regiment 82 - Division 355 - Military Region II on April 22 and 23; at Ang Cang commune (Muong Ang district); Ta Phin commune (Tua Chua district); the communes of Na Hy, Muong Muon, Na Sang, Na Bung (Muong Cha district); Cha Nua commune (Nam Po district), Pa My commune (Muong Nhe district); Phinh Giang commune (Dien Bien Dong district); and Nua Ngam commune (Dien Bien district).
This is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, aiming to widely propagate historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions, highlighting the role, stature and great historical significance of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign and the resistance war against French colonialism in the struggle for national independence.
Photo exhibition "Dien Bien - Innovation and Development"
The photo exhibition with the theme “Dien Bien – Innovation and Development” is scheduled to be held in mid-April and will last for 10 days at the lobby of the Dien Bien Provincial Cultural and Convention Center. Along with this exhibition, there will also be a scientific seminar on the Dien Bien Phu Victory hosted by the Ministry of National Defense.
The exhibition includes 170 documentary photos reflecting the attention (activities, programs of visits and working in the province) of the Party and State leaders to Dien Bien province in recent years. Introducing some images of Dien Bien province's achievements in the fields of politics, economy, culture, society, national defense, security and foreign affairs in recent years.
Images of leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities in implementing Party policies and State laws in localities; typical political events such as Party Congresses at all levels, elections of National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels; Congresses of local socio-political organizations.
Images of the implementation results of projects and outstanding economic development models in industrial production, agriculture, forestry, trade and services, exploiting the potential and strengths of Dien Bien province and localities in the province to attract and call for investment to serve the socio-economic development of the province.
Images of achievements in cultural development, education, health, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and policies to ensure social security. Images of results in directing and organizing the implementation of military and defense work, ensuring security and order in the province; foreign affairs and international cooperation, especially foreign affairs with Laos, China and countries that have signed agreements and cooperation with the province, and border demarcation and marker planting.
National cycling race for the 36th Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup
The national cycling race for the "36th Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup - 2024" officially started on the morning of April 3 in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province.
The cycling race with the theme “The Country and Rivers Connected in One Strip – Belief in Victory” is organized on a national scale. Athletes will travel through the provinces and cities of Son La, Hoa Binh, Hanoi, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Binh Duong, Tien Giang, Can Tho, An Giang, Dong Thap and end in Ho Chi Minh City at noon on April 30 with a total route of nearly 3,000km.
The racing team has about 400 members, including 105 domestic and international professional athletes from 15 racing teams nationwide and more than 200 amateur athletes from Dien Bien province; referees from the Vietnam Cycling and Motor Sports Federation; motorcyclists from the Ho Chi Minh City Cycling and Motor Sports Federation; central and local press teams... Regarding vehicles, there are about 70 motorbikes and 100 cars of all kinds to serve professional work and broadcast live all racing stages.
The national cycling race for the "36th Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup - 2024" is one of the large-scale national sports events organized to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien and the 2024 Hoa Ban Festival.

Previously, on the evening of March 16 at 7/5 Square, Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to solemnly organize the Opening Ceremony of National Tourism Year - Dien Bien and the Ban Flower Festival 2024 with the theme "Glory of Dien Bien Phu - Endless Experience" in the anticipation of thousands of people and tourists.
With the attention of the Central Government, the Government, the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and other provinces, the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 is implemented with nearly 170 programs, events, and unique cultural, sports, and tourism activities, on a national and international scale, taking place throughout 2024, which is an honor and opportunity for Dien Bien province to introduce its image, hospitality, and promote provincial tourism on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world.
At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha asked localities to actively respond to the theme of the National Tourism Year; at the same time, promote Dien Bien's creative spirit in choosing tourism themes, honoring the cultural, human and natural values in each region, creating a diverse, unique and "taking off" Vietnamese tourism ecosystem.
To awaken the hidden beauty of the Northwest mountains and forests as well as the wild, rustic and simple cultural features in the daily lives of the people, helping Dien Bien tourism to truly "take off," the Deputy Prime Minister also suggested: Dien Bien needs to have comprehensive and synchronous solutions in planning and attracting investment to create different and classy tourism products associated with the community tourism ecosystem to exploit the attractive value of the colorful cultural working life; focus on building a civilized, friendly and sustainable tourism environment, each person needs to become a cultural ambassador, responsible for protecting the environment and landscape.
At the same time, it is necessary to quickly transform digitally, apply technology to effectively communicate and promote tourism in Dien Bien in particular and the Northwest in general, and the whole country to the world; promote linkages and cooperation between localities, creating a chain of destinations, in which Dien Bien Phu must be the driving force, attracting tourists to destinations on the route and vice versa; train and develop tourism human resources...
In particular, the program uses new Dron-Bat flycamera technology with 200 flycameras arranged in images: the map of the Fatherland, Dien Bien soldiers, Ban flowers, National Tourism Year, Ban Flower Festival... to create new effects for viewers.
