According to the third auction plan for car license plates with 188,399 license plates just approved by the Ministry of Public Security, Hanoi has the largest number of license plates with 27,300 license plates, followed by Ho Chi Minh City with 17,970 license plates.
Notably, in the upcoming third auction, those in need will have many opportunities to own super beautiful license plates such as: Hanoi 30K-888.88, 30L-222.22, 30L-333.33, 30L-444.44; Ho Chi Minh City 51D-999.99, 51L-444.44, 51L-555.55.
There are also 43A-888.88 (Da Nang); 15K-333.33 (Hai Phong); 65A-444.44, 65C-222.22 (Can Tho).
The car license plate with five 9s is holding the auction record at over 75 billion VND.
The Ministry of Public Security said that, based on Decree No. 39/2023/ND-CP dated June 29, 2023 of the Government detailing a number of articles of Resolution No. 73/2022/QH15 dated November 15, 2022 of the National Assembly on pilot auction of car license plates, the third online auction of car license plates will begin on the morning of March 18.
The starting price for a car license plate to be auctioned is 40 million VND, the deposit is equal to this starting price. The auctions take place online, the step price for each auction is 5 million VND.
All Vietnamese organizations and individuals are eligible to participate in the auction of car license plates according to regulations. The time of a third auction is calculated from the start to the 25th minute of the auction.
This auction will have an additional provision for an extension round, which is a period of time after the official auction time when eligible bidders can continue to bid. Each extension round lasts 30 seconds and there will be a maximum of 10 extension rounds. Only bidders who have made valid bids in the previous round will be eligible to bid in the next round.
Within 15 days from the date of announcement of auction results, the auction winner must deposit the entire auction winning amount (after deducting the deposit) into the specialized collection account of the Ministry of Public Security.
In the two previous auctions, the license plate 30K-999.99 currently holds the record for the highest winning bid with the auction amount of 75.275 billion VND. The Ho Chi Minh City license plate 51K-888.88 was previously won with 32.340 billion VND, but after many times of forfeiture and re-auction, this asset was returned with 15.265 billion VND.
The next highest position in terms of price belongs to Vinh Phuc province license plate 88A-888.88 with 29.430 billion VND. Next is Quang Ninh license plate 14A-888.88 with the winning bid of 21.855 billion VND.
