On February 27, designer Phan Dang Hoang launched his new collection in the form of an exhibition, held at the Palazzo dei Giureconsulti building, Milan, Italy. This event is part of the Milan Fashion Week Fall - Winter 2025 .
The collection named "ZigZag" is inspired by Do paper. Designer Phan Dang Hoang once again tells the story of Vietnamese culture through the language of fashion.
He said: "To me, this collection is a continuation of the East-West cultural dialogue, carrying the spirit of the intersection of classical and modern beauty.
During my research, I realized that besides its cultural value, Do paper is also a historical story. Do paper has a history of more than 500 years. From Yen Thai Do paper sent all over the world to famous Dong Ho paintings. Do paper is not only a material, but also a symbol of durability and sophistication.
With these meanings, I believe that bringing national beauty to the exhibition within the framework of Milan Fashion Week Fall - Winter 2025 will help international friends understand more about Vietnam's cultural identity."
Regarding materials for the new collection, designer Phan Dang Hoang chose fabrics produced in Vietnam such as linen, ramiesilk (a combination of green hemp and silk), or some materials from Japan such as leather, chiffon, wool, silk...
The collection's color palette revolves around neutral tones such as white, black, gray, beige, light blue... interpreted on shirts, trousers, sleeveless dresses, off-the-shoulder dresses, turn-down collar jackets...
Last year, Phan Dang Hoang became the first Vietnamese designer to perform live at Milan Fashion Week . He prepared everything for nearly a year, going through many stressful steps of reviewing documents.
The designer born in 2000 shared with Dan Tri reporter: "I feel extremely lucky to be the first Vietnamese designer to participate in the Milan Fashion Week schedule. Although I encountered so many difficulties in preparation that I almost gave up, after all, I overcame it all.
I was so happy when I walked out to greet the audience and ended the show. At that moment, I felt proud of my achievements and of achieving my childhood dream.
That dream has inspired and motivated me on my career journey. Any job requires passion and effort to conquer goals and heights."
At the end of September 2024, designer Phan Dang Hoang presented his new collection live at Milan Fashion Week Spring - Summer 2025. The collection was inspired by the silk paintings of famous painter Nguyen Phan Chanh, combined with ceramic art to honor the artistic values imbued with Vietnamese identity.
Previously, in February 2024, designer Phan Dang Hoang launched the "Sonder" collection at Milan Fashion Week Fall - Winter 2024 , via online format.
