On January 5, a representative of the Road Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7 - Traffic Police Department, said that they had issued a fine to a driver from An Giang for two acts of driving a car exceeding the speed limit and an expired driver's license according to Decrees 100 and 123.
Previously, on the evening of December 31, this person drove a car at high speed on the highway from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho. A friend sitting next to him used his phone to record and post it on Tiktok. At one point, the car's speed reached 210 km/h in Vinh Long City, while the maximum speed on the route is not allowed to exceed 90 km/h.
Working with the police, the driver said he had just bought the car and wanted to test the speed and record a video to "show off to his friends".

The 23-kilometer, four-lane My Thuan-Can Tho Expressway, passing through Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces, opened to traffic on December 24. This route and the My Thuan 2 Bridge, inaugurated on the same day, help shorten the travel time from the capital of the Western region to Ho Chi Minh City to just over 2 hours, compared to 4 hours if traveling via National Highway 1.
