Fans 'revive' Counter-Strike 6 with CS: Legacy remake

The newly released trailer has revealed the first images of the game, bringing back unforgettable memories of the classic version 1.6.

CS: Legacy was built from scratch with custom source code and game assets, giving it a fresh new look while retaining the spirit of Counter-Strike 1.6 . The development team used Valve's Source Engine 2013 platform, while making significant improvements to graphics, sound, effects, and user interface.

"We wanted to create a true and complete remake of Counter-Strike 1.6 , bringing a familiar yet fresh experience to fans," the development team representative shared.

CS: Legacy is more than just a graphical remake. The development team has made extensive technical changes, such as a custom renderer, Physically Based Rendering shaders, a completely rewritten reflection system, and many other supporting tools. All of these improvements are aimed at providing a smoother, more realistic, and optimized gaming experience.

The CS: Legacy project is being developed with community support through the Patreon platform. Fans can choose from a variety of support packages, from small donations to special packages with attractive benefits. CS: Legacy Early Access will feature five maps familiar to CS fans, including Dust2, Nuke, Train, Poolday, and Aim_map. Fans will be able to relive classic matches on these maps with a brand new look.
