On the afternoon of February 9 (the 30th of Tet), when the New Year's Eve was only a matter of hours away, flower sellers at the Da Nang flower market sat in a daze because there were still too many chrysanthemums, apricot blossoms, peach blossoms, kumquats, etc. Many people "let loose" and hired trucks to transport the flowers home, accepting the loss.
According to Thanh Nien reporters at the Da Nang Tet flower market (located at Tien Son Sports Palace, Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Hai Chau District), there were a lot of flowers left over, but the number of people coming to buy was sparse. Many vendors sold their goods at low prices, while others quietly transported the flowers back to their gardens, cleaned up, and returned the premises.
On the afternoon of the 30th of Tet, flower sellers were bewildered because there were too many flowers left.
Holding pliers to cut dozens of blooming apricot pots, Ms. Hoang Nhung (39 years old, living in Binh Dinh province) sighed and said that her family transported nearly 100 apricot pots from Binh Dinh to Da Nang city to sell at very high transportation and rental costs.
"I only sold 50% of the flowers I brought to the market all week. I have never seen a year with such a slow business like this year. Now I have no choice but to cut the flowers and hire a truck to bring them back. I am losing money on transportation and space," Ms. Nhung said sadly.

Continuously announcing a price reduction for bonsai mai pots from 900,000 VND to 250,000 VND/pot, Mr. Dinh The Ha (residing in Binh Dinh province) said that there are only a few hours left until New Year's Eve, and he is about to have to return the premises, so he decided to deeply reduce the price, just hoping to sell a few more pots to recover the capital.

"It's the afternoon of the 30th of Tet, I miss home and am so tired of the slow sales that I decided to sell really cheap and go home early. This year's Tet flower sellers have lost Tet...", Mr. Ha said.
After the flower sellers had a "big sale", many people came to the flower market but very few "closed orders". Mr. Ho Thanh Dung (residing in Quang Nam province) brought 150 pots of yellow chrysanthemums to the Da Nang flower market to sell, but by the afternoon of the 30th of Tet, there were still more than 80 pots left. "I don't know where to get the money to cover the loss and what to do with the large amount of chrysanthemums brought back to my hometown? This year, the flower market location has been moved, so the number of buyers has decreased, the market is unsettled like never before," said Mr. Dung.
