Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville want the Commission of Inquiry to speed up the investigation into 115 allegations against Man City, the team that just won the Premier League for the third time in a row.
"It's not nice that we're talking about one of the greatest teams in the Premier League and one of the greatest managers, and we're putting an asterisk on it until it's resolved," former Liverpool captain and centre-back Carragher told Sky Sports on May 22. "My message to Man City is that it has to be resolved. Better sooner than later, for their own reputation."

Regarding the investigation time, Carragher said that four years is too long. And the consequences could be a mess for Man City as well as other teams.
Gary Neville also said the Commission of Inquiry needed to move faster. He advised skipping some procedures, as the allegations were not criminal in nature. "Let's push forward and get it done as soon as possible," the former Man Utd captain and full-back urged.
In February, the Premier League accused Man City of 115 breaches of financial fair play rules between 2009 and 2018. An independent commission will investigate and handle the case, but it will take between two and four years. Meanwhile, Man City denies all allegations.
According to Metro , if found guilty, Man City could face one or more penalties including: points deduction during the accusation period, expulsion from the tournament, compensation, conditional punishment, cancellation or refusal to register players.
If Man City are deducted points, they could lose the Premier League titles of 2011-12, 2013-14 and 2017-18. In these three seasons, Man Utd finished second twice and Liverpool once. They could win the title, if Man City are found guilty.
Man City have just won their third consecutive Premier League title, taking their tally to nine. The Etihad team leads the 2022-23 season with 88 points after 36 games, seven points ahead of Arsenal. The Gunners have one game left.
Man City also have the FA Cup final against Man Utd on June 3 and the Champions League final against Inter on June 10. If they win both matches, they will become the second English team to win the treble, after Man Utd in 1998-1999. Man City reached the Champions League final in 2020-2021, but lost 0-1 to Chelsea.
