On the morning of December 5, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, Comrade Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission, received a delegation of Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad appointed in 2024, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Thanh Binh.

At the reception, Comrade Tran Cam Tu congratulated the newly appointed Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnamese Representative Agencies Abroad. Emphasizing that this is an honor and a great responsibility entrusted by the Party, State and people, Comrade Tran Cam Tu expressed his belief that, as professional diplomats, proficient in their profession, intelligent, courageous and experienced, having made many contributions to foreign affairs, and carefully selected, they will fulfill their tasks well.

Foreign affairs must come first

After listening to the opinions, comrade Tran Cam Tu stated that the Ambassadors and Heads of Diplomatic Missions are leaving for their missions in the context that the country is in the final stage to successfully implement the goals of the 13th National Congress, towards the 80th anniversary of independence and the 50th anniversary of national reunification. Our country is entering a new era, the era of national development, implementing development goals by 2030, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party; by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country, making Vietnam a developed, rich, civilized, prosperous and happy country. In that context, foreign affairs and diplomacy must take the lead in creating peace, protecting the Fatherland and attracting resources for national development. The Ambassadors - Heads of Missions, diplomats in foreign countries are the "frontline soldiers" carrying out this glorious mission. Comrade Tran Cam Tu suggested that before leaving for their missions, Ambassadors and Heads of Representative Agencies should closely follow the foreign policy and instructions of the Politburo, Secretariat, Government and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to effectively implement the foreign policy priorities in the coming time. As those on the front line, Ambassadors and Heads of Representative Agencies should grasp the situation, "know the enemy, know ourselves", advise and propose to the Party and State to issue and update foreign policy and solutions to ensure the highest national interests. At the same time, promote the pioneering role in mobilizing resources to serve the cause of national development.

Imbued with Uncle Ho's teaching of "combining national strength with the strength of the times", the comrades promoted the spirit of responsibility, dedication to work, cooperated with local authorities to mobilize resources and favorable conditions for national development; advised on development trends, transformation trends, shifting production and supply chains; promoted market expansion, diversified partnerships, attracted high-quality FDI, new-generation ODA, technology transfer... Representative agencies must pave the way, accompany people, localities and businesses. Comrade Tran Cam Tu said that in their new positions, each diplomatic officer abroad is a representative of the country's image, an Ambassador for the country's brand. Therefore, Ambassadors and Heads of Representative Agencies actively promote the strength and culture of Vietnam, spreading the image of an independent, autonomous, peaceful, friendly, cordial, sincere Vietnam, a friend, a reliable and responsible partner of the international community. In your position, you need to promote cultural values ​​for socio-economic development, step up the campaign for world heritage nominations, innovate the content and methods of promoting the country's image..., making Vietnam a symbol of peace, friendliness, hospitality, a destination for international friends and tourists.

Unity is strength

Quoting Uncle Ho's advice that "a career is built on unity", emphasizing that unity is strength, without unity it is impossible to complete tasks, comrade Tran Cam Tu clearly stated that as heads of agencies, Ambassadors and Heads of Representative Agencies need to uphold the spirit of exemplary and responsible, truly being an example for cadres and party members; at the same time, they must be the "nucleus" that unites into a strong collective for the common cause, closely coordinating with other sectors and fields, both promoting the strengths of each pillar and promoting the strength of the collective to create a solid tripod. Foreign affairs officers must constantly train their mettle and steadfast ideology, truly "both red and professional".

Comrade Tran Cam Tu hopes that Ambassadors, Heads of representative agencies who are also Party Secretaries in foreign localities will do a good job in Party building in all aspects; build agencies, units, cadres and Party members who are always clean and strong, strictly comply with the Party Charter, Party regulations and rules, and regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do; in which it is necessary to pay special attention to the work of protecting internal politics, absolutely not allowing corruption, waste, negativity to occur... Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad will continue to promote the glorious tradition of previous diplomatic officials, shining examples of patriotism, political mettle, moral qualities, qualifications, diplomatic style, creatively applying Ho Chi Minh's diplomatic style to successfully carry out the tasks assigned by the Party and State. * Previously, reporting at the working session, Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Thanh Binh said that the Ambassadors and Consuls General appointed in 2024 are officials with many years of experience in foreign affairs, assigned to work across 4 continents. In the process of preparing to take up their duties abroad, the Ambassadors and Consuls General attended training courses, updated information on many useful topics related to the Party and State's foreign policies and guidelines, the world and regional situation, etc. The Ambassadors also had many rich activities, grasping the actual situation at ministries, branches and localities to grasp the situation and needs in the country, thereby seeking resources to serve the country's socio-economic development.
