Apple is expected to release an official Vietnamese version of its virtual assistant Siri in March, allowing iPhone users to download and experience all the features of this virtual assistant. This is an important step forward for the iPhone user community in Vietnam, helping them interact with Siri in their native language more conveniently and naturally.
Siri was first introduced by Apple in 2011 as an intelligent virtual assistant, supporting multiple languages and deeply integrated into the Apple ecosystem. With the ability to process voice commands, search for information, control devices and perform many other useful tasks, Siri has become an indispensable part for many iPhone, iPad, Mac and other Apple product users around the world.
However, over the past 14 years, Siri has not supported Vietnamese, causing many users in Vietnam to have difficulty using this virtual assistant. The lack of a native language means that they cannot fully exploit the utilities that Siri brings, from messaging, setting reminders to quickly searching for information. With the upcoming update, this barrier will be officially removed, opening up a completely new experience for Vietnamese users.
Apple has released iOS 18.4 beta 1 for developers, marking an important step forward in supporting Vietnamese for Siri. This is good news for iPhone users in Vietnam, as they can finally communicate with the virtual assistant in their native language. With this update, Siri can perform familiar commands such as opening applications, sending messages, searching for information or making calls more smoothly and accurately.
Like the languages previously supported by Apple, users will need to say five sentences in Vietnamese for Siri to recognize the voice, pronunciation and intonation, thereby improving the ability to respond and interact. Despite supporting new languages, Siri still retains the traditional activation method of saying “Hey, Siri”, helping to ensure consistency in the user experience across the entire Apple ecosystem.
However, although Siri has supported Vietnamese, advanced features related to Apple's artificial intelligence (AI), called Apple Intelligence, are not yet available in this language. This means that iPhone users in Vietnam cannot yet enjoy the advanced AI functions that Apple is developing, such as intelligent information summarization or content creation support. However, this is still a big step forward, opening up many opportunities for Apple to continue improving Siri and bring better experiences in the future.
Apple has confirmed that Apple Intelligence, its advanced artificial intelligence system, will support Vietnamese in 2025. This is a welcome news for iPhone users in Vietnam, as Apple Intelligence promises to bring many smart features, such as content summarization, text editing, image creation, and AI content creation support. Although Vietnamese Siri is already available on iOS 18.4 beta, the integration of Apple Intelligence will help improve the user experience, opening a new era of Vietnamese support technology on the Apple ecosystem.
To experience Siri in Vietnamese right now, users need to register for an Apple developer beta account. This process can be done by going to Settings on iPhone -> select General Settings -> go to Software Update -> enable the Beta Update option. Once successfully registered, users can download and install the latest iOS 18.4 beta 1 to use Siri in Vietnamese, opening up a more natural and convenient experience of communicating with the virtual assistant.
