Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway will be inaugurated on May 19

The Ministry of Transport has just announced the inauguration ceremony of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressways on May 19.

On May 19, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway will be connected with Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway.

The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway started construction in September 2020, with a length of more than 100 km with 5 intersections passing through Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac districts, Phan Thiet city and ending at Ham Thuan Nam district. According to the original plan, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet section project would be inaugurated and put into operation on April 30 along with the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay route. However, during the implementation process, due to the extension of the time for filling the land mines to serve the construction of the frontage road and the level crossing on the route being extended, plus problems arising in site clearance, the inauguration time was postponed to May 19 along with the Nha Trang - Cam Lam component project.

According to the Ministry of Transport, under the strong direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, the effective and responsible coordination of the agencies of the National Assembly, the ministries, central branches and localities, together with the urgent, focused and responsible working spirit of the relevant agencies and units under the Ministry of Transport, the efforts and determination of investors, construction contractors and consultants, up to now, the component projects of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet section of the North - South Expressway Construction Investment Project, Eastern phase 2017 - 2020 have met the conditions for inauguration according to regulations.
