At the program, leaders of the Provincial Border Guard Command, Lien Huong Port Border Guard Station and Hoa Minh Border Guard Station awarded 19 scholarships for the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year (each worth 2 million VND) to 19 poor but studious students.

These are children from difficult circumstances, with good academic achievements and are sponsored by the Provincial Border Guard under the program "Helping children go to school" with the amount of 4.5 million VND/child/school year. Each case under the program will be implemented continuously from the time of sponsorship until the children graduate from high school.
Speaking at the program, Colonel Dinh Van Bo - Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard said that despite difficult circumstances, each student has always tried, strived and achieved high results in the learning process. Each scholarship awarded will partly help the students reduce the difficulties on their journey to school. At the same time, it encourages and motivates them to constantly try, continue to strive to overcome all difficulties to achieve the best learning results.
The program “Helping children go to school” has been implemented by the Provincial Border Guard Command since 2016. Up to now, the program has supported hundreds of disadvantaged students in the coastal border areas of the province to excel in their studies. With support from the program, many students after graduating from high school have passed the entrance exam and are continuing to study at colleges and universities across the country.
