The two expressways Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay passing through Binh Thuan are over 148 km long, running through 5 districts Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan Nam and Ham Tan.

The National Assembly Economic Committee delegation inspected the existing problems on two expressways on the morning of September 7.

The volume of compensation and site clearance work is quite large with 2,635 households, individuals and organizations, 1,140.8 hectares of land affected; building 5 resettlement areas to resettle 149 households, and at the same time having to relocate quite a large number of technical infrastructure works of water, telecommunications, medium and low voltage electricity and high voltage electricity 500 kV, 220 kV intersecting with the expressway through the province at 20 locations. With the strong direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Transport, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the participation of the entire political system, Binh Thuan has completed the compensation, support and resettlement work of the 2 main expressways mentioned above according to the prescribed schedule. The 2 expressways have been put into operation but there are still many problems that need to be resolved because they affect the lives and production activities and are currently pressing issues among the people. Specifically, the local roads damaged by the transportation of materials for the project have not been repaired or restored to their original state. Some locations of underpasses, land and houses of local people have been flooded and eroded. People's houses and religious buildings with cracked walls and sunken foundations due to highway construction have not been repaired. The unfinished items on the route, the residential roads along both sides of the route, underpasses, and overpasses across the highway have not been completed to ensure convenient travel and production for the people.

In addition to the above problems, the two expressways have not completed the interconnecting intersections in Binh Thuan province. There has been no investment in building rest stops on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay sections. It is necessary to build an overpass on National Highway 1 (at the intersection of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway with National Highway 1, Ham Cuong commune, Ham Thuan Nam section). The traffic surveillance camera system on the two expressways has not been invested in and built, the emergency lane on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet section does not have one...
