After the battle at the Y Gate, the unit retreated to Suoi Soi in Ham Hiep Commune, Ham Thuan District (now Ham Hiep Commune, Ham Thuan Bac District) to consolidate forces in preparation for the second attack.

After repelling the 53rd Company - Puppet stationed at Muong Man Fort, at around 4:00 p.m. on February 15, 1968, enemy aircraft from Thanh Son Airport, Phan Rang - Thap Cham came to bomb the position of Unit 480, causing 6 of our comrades hiding in 2 bunkers to heroically sacrifice, including comrade Truong Van Thi. In recognition of these contributions, on February 26, 2025, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 437 on granting the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to Martyr Truong Van Thi.

At the ceremony, Colonel Tran Dong Thanh - Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command affirmed that comrade Truong Van Thi had devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. His spirit clearly demonstrated the good qualities of a Communist, a soldier of "Uncle Ho's Army".
