At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee spent a lot of time giving opinions on: the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Pharmacy; the draft Law on Cultural Heritage (amended); the draft Law on Juvenile Justice; the draft Law on Value Added Tax (amended); the draft Law on Urban and Rural Planning. At the same time, the National Assembly Standing Committee also gave opinions on the draft Law and Ordinance Development Program for 2025 and the adjustment of the Law and Ordinance Development Program for 2024.
Regarding supervision, the National Assembly Standing Committee will review the National Assembly's report on people's petitions in March 2024; review the summary report on the results of supervision of legal documents under the responsibility of the Ethnic Council and the National Assembly Committees in 2023; review the results of the National Assembly's supervision delegation on "Implementation of Resolution No. 43/2022/QH15 dated January 11, 2022 of the National Assembly on fiscal and monetary policies to support the Socio-economic Recovery and Development Program and the National Assembly's resolutions on a number of important national projects until the end of 2023".
The National Assembly Standing Committee also commented on the report on the results of the implementation of the Supervision Program in 2023 and the first months of 2024, the planned Supervision Program in 2025 of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee; gave initial comments on the draft Report on the results of the thematic supervision "Implementation of policies and laws on ensuring traffic order and safety from 2009 to the end of 2023".
Regarding decisions on important issues, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on Submission No. 04/TTr-CP dated February 19, 2024 of the Government on the plan to handle funds to implement the Award of the International Arbitration on the Petroleum Contract Case of Blocks 01 & 02; and give opinions on Submission No. 01/TT-CTN dated March 1, 2024 of the President on the signing of a Loan Agreement between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for the Priority Infrastructure and Urban Development Project to Adapt to Climate Change in Vinh City, Nghe An Province.
The National Assembly Standing Committee also considered the Submission on the proposal to adjust the investment policy of the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2023 period; reviewed Report No. 71/BC-CP of the Government on a number of contents expected to be amended and supplemented in Decree No. 08/2019/ND-CP dated January 23, 2019 stipulating a number of regimes for members of Vietnamese agencies abroad; gave opinions on Submission No. 112/TTr-CP dated March 28, 2024 of the Government on the Pre-Feasibility Study Report on the Investment Project to build the North-South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section.
At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee will also give opinions on the preparation for the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly; the reorganization of the Information Technology Center into the Department of Information Technology and Audit Data under the State Audit./.
