On the afternoon of April 17, Ben Cat Town Party Committee (Binh Duong) held a press conference to announce the National Assembly's Resolution on the establishment of An Dien Ward and An Tay Ward in Ben Cat Town and the establishment of Ben Cat City. This Resolution takes effect from May 1, 2024. |
According to the Resolution, An Dien ward was established on the basis of the entire natural area of 31.22 km2 and the population of 25,363 people of An Dien commune. An Tay ward was established on the basis of the entire natural area of 44.01 km2 and the population of 41,917 people of An Tay commune. |

After its establishment, Ben Cat city has 8 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards: An Dien, An Tay, Chanh Phu Hoa, Hoa Loi, My Phuoc, Tan Dinh, Thoi Hoa and Phu An commune. |

According to the plan, Ben Cat urban area is developed according to the model of industrial urban area combined with services and traffic hubs. Oriented to 2040, Ben Cat urban area develops according to the model of a line with 2 main directions: Developing the commercial - service corridor along National Highway 13 in the North - South direction and developing urban - commercial - service areas along Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4, which is the transport route in the East - West direction. |
For waterways, develop An Tay port with a scale of 100 hectares, An Dien port with a scale of 8 hectares and ICD Rach Bap port with a scale of 10 hectares in An Tay commune (Saigon riverside area). Develop an urban energy supply project area of about 30 - 35 hectares in An Tay commune. For railways, in addition to Chanh Luu station with a scale of 6.6 hectares, the locality will develop a mixed-use area around the station, with priority given to logistics services. |
Regarding traffic hubs, for roads, IDC An Dien dry port with a scale of 30 hectares will be arranged in the area east of Viet Huong 2 Industrial Park; the existing bus station in My Phuoc ward will be upgraded to a type 2 bus station and a new bus station with a scale of 3 hectares will be developed in An Tay commune. |
