The People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has just approved the project to adjust the 1/2,000 scale zoning plan of Go Gang island, Long Son commune, Vung Tau city. The scope of the 1/2,000 scale zoning plan of Go Gang island is limited by Rang river in the north, Cha Va river in the west, Dinh river in the east and south. The population is about 60,000 people, the planning area is 1,389 hectares, divided into functional areas.

Go Gang has now changed dramatically, people's lives have improved.

Of which, the largest area is reserved for the mangrove ecological park with 532ha. The area for the airport and related services is estimated at 250ha. The area for commercial, service, scientific and tourism activities is 158.5ha. The area foreducation , training and scientific research is 20ha.

Other functional zones include an economic , financial and commercial center of 30 hectares, a gateway service center of 67 hectares and a service area connecting to Long Son of 25.3 hectares. In addition, traffic routes connecting to Go Gang will also be implemented.

According to the development orientation, Go Gang will be a new modern urban area with Go Gang airport and an ecological urban area connected to the mangrove ecological space. This island is also a center for fishing logistics services and high-tech seafood processing.

The planning determines the optimization of potential, natural landscape of water, rivers, seascape, as well as land fund for urban development... making Go Gang a unique coastal urban area of ​​international class, with high investment efficiency and development feasibility.

According to the reporter's records, currently, to get to Go Gang, people and tourists mainly travel via Long Son, Cha Va, and Ba Nanh bridges. The traffic infrastructure includes internal routes around the island, two routes connecting to the mainland, Truong Sa and Hoang Sa. Recently, the 994 road project has been deployed to upgrade and expand the connection between Long Son and the eastern sea.

Go Gang Airport is an airport planned to be built on Go Gang Island in Long Son Commune, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province to replace Vung Tau Airport. Previously, because Vung Tau Airport was located in the center of Vung Tau City, affecting the ability to develop the urban area, since 2010, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province had a policy to relocate to Go Gang.
