With special ecological conditions, Bac Lieu has the advantage of having many products from agricultural production, especially shrimp and fish. However, it must be admitted that most of these products are sold with raw materials, without deep processing, so they do not bring added value to help businesses and farmers get rich.

Practice and lessons learned from many localities show that if agricultural products are invested in and improved through deep processing, they will bring more value, even bringing in 3-4 times more profit than selling raw materials. For example, dried shrimp from Bac Lieu, when exported to Ho Chi Minh City or the Central provinces, only costs about 15,000 VND/kg, but after being processed by enterprises outside the province into fast food and canned food (such as crispy dried shrimp), 1kg of dried shrimp has exceeded 150,000 VND. This shows that exploiting the value of agricultural products through deep processing not only helps farmers and businesses increase profits, but also exploits, promotes the value well and proactively avoids wasting raw materials. On the other hand, exploiting this value problem well is also one of the solutions to guide producers, especially farmers, to produce quality goods instead of chasing quantity to sell more raw materials by developing in width and "following" the area.
In the context of climate change and increasingly fierce trade competition, focusing on enhancing product value is the solution that needs to be prioritized, especially in a province with a purely agricultural economy like Bac Lieu. To do so, research and application of science and technology in production and processing must be pioneered, in order to continuously improve the quality and affirm the brand and value of local strengths.
