Impressive achievements of male students in village school
Tuan Anh said that the first time his parents let him use computers and phones was in the second grade. Because he was exposed to computers at an early age, his passion for computer science was ignited.
Tran Tuan Anh has very impressive academic achievements.
"When I first started using a computer, I mainly played games and listened to music. Later on, I became more passionate about computer science, so I started typing and making simple presentations," Tuan Anh said.
The first IT award that Tuan Anh won was in 5th grade. At that time, Duc Tho District Youth Union organized a youth IT competition and Tuan Anh surprisingly won first prize. After the competition, this student dreamed of becoming a computer programmer.
When he entered secondary school, Tuan Anh suddenly changed direction and invested more time in learning English. The reason was because at that time, there were very few IT competitions in secondary school for him to continue to participate in.
Thanks to his determination and hard work in learning foreign languages, Tuan Anh has achieved remarkable results in this subject. In grade 8, he took the provincial excellent student exam and won third prize. A year later, he became the valedictorian of the provincial excellent student exam for grade 9 in English. In grade 10, Tuan Anh took the IELTS exam and achieved a score of 8.0.
"After finishing 10th grade, I focused more on IT than English. Although my teachers and friends were a bit surprised, I realized that foreign languages are a great complement to IT. I took advantage of this to look for more IT documents in English to improve my skills and knowledge," Tuan Anh confided.
In grade 11, this student participated in the provincial excellent student competition in informatics and won first prize. This achievement helped Tuan Anh be selected for the provincial informatics team. At the national excellent student competition in informatics in the 2023-2024 school year, this male student also excelled when he won second prize.
Make it to the Olympic team
At the end of March this year, when the Ministry of Education and Training organized the national team selection exam for the 2024 regional and international Olympic competitions, Tuan Anh and 37 students nationwide who won first and second prizes in the national excellent student competition in informatics participated in the competition. As a result, Tuan Anh excellently won 9th place, making it into the team for the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad.
Tuan Anh took a final yearbook photo with his classmates as a souvenir.
"The Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad took place on May 18. I was very sorry to only get 8th place out of 15 participants. With this result, I could not complete my goal of being on the team to compete in the International Informatics Olympiad. Although the result was not as expected, I am still very satisfied with what I have achieved," Tuan Anh confided.
By being selected for the national team to compete in regional and international Olympic competitions, Tuan Anh is one of five 12th graders in Ha Tinh exempted from the high school graduation exam and admitted directly to university. Among them, Tuan Anh is a student studying at a "village school", the remaining four students all study at Ha Tinh Specialized High School.
Tuan Anh plans to apply for admission to the Information Technology major at Hanoi University of Science and Technology to continue his dream of becoming a computer programmer.
Mr. Phan Huu Quyen, Vice Principal of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, assessed Tuan Anh as a student with excellent academic performance, especially in English and IT. The male student is also an exemplary class officer, leading in class and school movements and always helping his friends. What Tuan Anh has achieved is the pride of the school and an example for students to follow.
