Oyster mushrooms of Thuong Huyen mushroom production facility are the first mushroom product in Ky Anh town (Ha Tinh) to meet 3-star OCOP standards.
Thuong Huyen mushroom production facility is owned by Ms. Pham Thi Thuong Huyen (born in 1969, in Hoa Trung village, Ky Hoa commune). This is the largest facility in Ky Anh town at present and is the first mushroom production facility with products certified to meet the local 3-star OCOP standard.
Taking advantage of the straw after harvesting rice to grow mushrooms, but instead of growing them in the usual way, Ms. Pham Thi Thuong Huyen grew oyster mushrooms in a greenhouse, this method brings high economic efficiency.
Ms. Huyen shared: " After visiting and learning about many large models in mushroom cultivation and production, understanding the nutritional and economic value that mushrooms bring, in 2019, I decided to start researching and producing. Up to now, the facility has produced many batches of quality mushrooms (oyster mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms) to serve the market under the brand name "Thuong Huyen Mushrooms".
Currently, Ms. Huyen's mushroom production facility has an area of over 300m2 , with over 10,000 mushroom bags. Thanks to ensuring the production process, the indoor oyster mushroom model grows well.
According to Ms. Huyen, mushrooms start to be harvested from August to the end of March next year. Since the beginning of the season, the facility has harvested 6 tons of mushrooms of all kinds. The price of each kilogram of mushrooms ranges from 30,000 to 40,000 VND, on average, each month after deducting expenses, the profit is about 30-40 million VND.
Mushrooms are grown and produced indoors, not affected by natural climate conditions, so they are optimal in quality and have good control over environmental and disease issues.
Thuong Huyen oyster mushrooms are produced from local ingredients such as straw, corn bran, rice bran... with appropriate mixing ratios, the facility complies with the harvesting time according to the technical process, so the current quality of mushrooms is assessed as beautiful, chewy, crispy and sweet.
Not stopping with the current model, the facility is currently continuing to improve the product from improving quality to building the image such as: labels, packaging, participating in e-commerce platforms... To expand the market, with the aspiration to make Thuong Huyen oyster mushroom products become a typical local product.
The oyster mushroom product of Thuong Huyen mushroom production facility owned by Ms. Pham Thi Thuong Huyen is the first product of the commune to achieve 3-star OCOP certification. From Ms. Huyen's success, in the coming time, the commune will encourage and motivate more households to replicate the mushroom growing model in the area.
