At present, people in Muong La district are focusing on caring for and preventing pests and diseases for fruit trees. This is also the locality with the largest fruit tree area in the province with over 7 thousand hectares.
The orchard of more than 2 hectares of Mr. Lo Van Phuong's family, Dong Luong village, Muong Bu commune has been harvested for 2 years. After harvesting all the fruit, his family is focusing on pruning the branches and shaping the canopy for the tree to welcome luck and flowers. Up to now, when the tree has bloomed, his family continues to take care of it by spraying pesticides to prevent pests and diseases that harm the tree.
Currently, mango, longan, and lychee fruit trees are in the budding, flowering, and fruiting stages. During these days, people are taking advantage of pruning branches and spraying pesticides to prevent pests and fungi that are harmful to crops.
The whole Muong La district currently has over 7,000 hectares of fruit trees including: hawthorn, plum, mango, banana, longan;... In recent years, fruit trees have brought in large revenues, helping people escape poverty and have a better life, contributing significantly to the new rural construction movement in the locality.
With the application of science and technology in the care process, people in Muong La district expect that the area of fruit trees of all kinds will grow well, giving high productivity and quality. Thereby contributing to stabilizing the economic life of the people./.
