On the evening of April 14, information from the People's Committee of Ky Son District (Nghe An) said that a hailstorm and tornado had just occurred in the afternoon of the same day in this district, injuring 1 person, collapsing 1 house, and blowing off the roofs of many houses.

Hail and tornadoes swept through 1 village of Muong Long commune and 5 villages of Bao Thang commune (Ky Son district) with very strong intensity.
Mr. Tho Ba Re, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son District, said that the damage caused by the hail and tornado could not be estimated yet because the communes swept through by the tornado had lost power and the villages were far from the commune center.
Initial reports said that hail and tornado injured one resident in Bao Thang commune when tiles fell on his head, one house in the commune also collapsed completely and many other houses had their roofs blown off.
Rocks were collected by people after the rain.
Images recorded by local residents show that the tornado caused many metal roofs to be blown off and electric poles to fall.
Previously, on the afternoon of April 13, a tornado accompanied by hail also swept through three communes of Huoi Tu, Muong Long and Bao Nam in Ky Son district. This unusual natural disaster caused dozens of houses to have their roofs blown off, damaged, and some electric poles to fall.
