On the morning of May 24, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade issued a warning about the situation of students taking exams on behalf of others.
Speaking to reporters, Dr. Thai Doan Thanh, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that recently, the practice of studying and taking exams for others has begun to appear more frequently. The school has discovered and is handling many cases of students taking attendance, studying, taking exams for others, and taking exams for others.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade issued new regulations clearly defining each violator and handling measures.
Serious violations of credit training regulations and student work regulations as well as other relevant legal regulations create negative public opinion, affecting the quality of education and training of the school. If the school does not have timely intervention measures, students will certainly be subjective, disregard the regulations and commit violations in their studies.
The new notice clearly stipulates 3 violations: Studying for someone else; taking exams or tests for someone else; doing, asking someone else to do or copying essays, projects, and graduation theses; organizing studying, taking exams or tests for someone else; organizing essays, projects, and graduation theses for someone else.
"For those who are studying or taking exams on behalf of others who are not students of the school, the school can hand them over to the authorities to handle according to the provisions of the law. This will serve as a deterrent for both sides." – Dr. Thanh emphasized.
In each classroom there are 2-3 surveillance cameras, promptly detecting any strangers who may have mixed in.
The content of proxy learning clearly states that students of the school who violate the law for the first time will receive 0 points for the course and be sent to the disciplinary council for handling from reprimand to warning for the whole school. If they repeat the violation, they will receive 0 points for the entire course of the violating semester and be sent to the disciplinary council for handling in the form of temporary suspension from school, and at the same time, a notice will be sent to the locality and family.
For those who provide "services" of studying on behalf of others, when discovered, they will be brought before the school's disciplinary council and handled from reprimand to warning for the whole school (if they are students of the school). Coordinate with relevant units to bring them to the disciplinary council for handling according to regulations (if they are students of other schools). If they re-offend, the school can hand them over to the authorities for handling according to the provisions of law.
Particularly for violations of organizing study, exams, and tests for others; organizing writing essays, projects, and graduation theses for others, from the first violation, the student will be forced to leave school and a notice will be sent to the locality and family.
Dr. Thanh said that when detecting phenomena with signs related to the above mentioned acts of going to school and taking attendance, studying for someone else, doing homework and taking exams for someone else, lecturers and students should send information to the school (through the Student Affairs Department & Education Inspectorate) at the phone number (028) 3816 3320 for support, recording and handling according to regulations.
