This morning, September 20, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam and Le Duc Tien chaired a meeting with relevant departments, branches and units to listen to reports on clean water supply solutions in the province.

According to the report of Quang Tri Clean Water Joint Stock Company, the unit is providing clean water to most urban areas with 72,000 customers, of which the rate of people using clean water in Dong Ha City is 96.8%, Quang Tri town is 86%.
However, at present, Cua Tung town and the suburban areas of 9 districts, towns and cities have not been supplied with clean water. In order to achieve the goal of providing clean water to people according to the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and the Clean Water Supply Project in Quang Tri province for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, the unit will prioritize expanding the scope of clean water supply to rural areas, at the same time investing in the construction of large-scale, synchronous, inter-regional, inter-commune, inter-district centralized clean water supply works, committed to ensuring adequate and regular supply to customers.
Accordingly, in the period of 2024 - 2025, in addition to the task of repairing and renovating existing water supply plants, the project to develop the water supply system of Cua Tung town and surrounding areas will be invested, continuing the transmission pipeline supplying water to the Trung Giang Resettlement Area (Gio Linh).
The project has a total investment of more than 75.5 billion VND; capacity of 6,500 m3 /day; the project's goal is to provide clean water to 38,000 people in Cua Tung town and Vinh Giang, Kim Thach (Vinh Linh), Trung Giang, Trung Hai, Gio My (Gio Linh) communes by 2040. The project is currently being implemented.
In addition, 4 projects were implemented, including: Investing in the construction of a clean water pipeline for 8 communes in the Northeast of Trieu Phong district and completing the water supply network of Trieu An and Trieu Thanh communes; water supply for Quang Tri Industrial Park (QTIP); water supply system of Hai Chanh commune (Hai Lang); water supply system of 2 communes Vinh Long and Vinh Ha (Vinh Linh).
In the period of 2025 - 2030, investing in the Tram Water Plant Project and the inter-regional water supply system of Hai Lang - Quang Tri town - Trieu Phong - Dong Ha city - Gio Linh - Vinh Linh. The project is being studied with a capacity of 150,000 m3 /day, a large-scale centralized clean water supply project, creating a source of supply for the inter-regional water supply system, in accordance with the approved clean water supply project in Quang Tri province.
In addition, investing in the Vinh Long Water Plant project (Vinh Linh) to proactively supply water to Ho Xa Industrial Park and rural areas of Vinh Linh district.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam and Le Duc Tien welcomed Quang Tri Clean Water Joint Stock Company for proactively developing plans and solutions to provide clean water in the province, especially in rural areas and industrial development areas of the province.
To effectively carry out the tasks and solutions for clean water supply according to the proposed plan, the company is requested to pay special attention to survey work to ensure resources, promote the effectiveness of projects, and at the same time take into account the needs and rapid development of society.
In addition, coordinate with the agricultural sector to mobilize resources and expand the water supply network. In the immediate future, it is necessary to focus on investment resources and water supply coverage for rural areas. In the long term, complete the water supply network across the province, in which Tram Water Plant is the focal point for proactive and sustainable water supply across the province.
Request Quang Tri Clean Water Joint Stock Company to commit to investing in accordance with the roadmap, plan, and legal regulations. Note to promptly remove obstacles, complete, and put into use Hai Chanh Water Plant, Hai Lang District.
