New direction of Government leaders on adjusting Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1

Construction of Long Thanh International Airport Terminal.

The announcement stated that on March 4, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired a meeting on adjusting the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project, Phase 1. After listening to the reports of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Construction, and the opinions of the delegates attending the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the Ministry of Construction to absorb all opinions of the delegates attending the meeting to complete the draft Decision approving the adjustment of the Project.

In particular, the Deputy Prime Minister requested to clearly define the tasks in the previous decision assigned to the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) now assigned to Dong Nai to review the 04 confirmed projects for adjustment in this Decision.

Runway No. 3, taxiway and some additional items agreed on capital, objectives and investor selection will be assigned to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) according to the provisions of law.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister proposed to supplement the content of deploying hangars No. 5 and No. 6 to organize the selection of investors in the coming time according to the regulations on bidding; review the project documents (from investment policy documents, planning documents, project documents, etc.) to determine the construction items of the component projects in the draft decision approving the adjustment to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency (such as items of the aviation logistics area and cargo terminal No. 2, express delivery terminal, cargo delivery warehouses, etc.).

Regarding progress, the Deputy Prime Minister requested an update on the basic progress of completing the project items in 2025; investors selected for projects such as hangars, cargo terminals, cargo warehouses, connecting infrastructure, etc. must commit to the progress.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance, ACV, Vietnam Airlines Corporation (VNA) and relevant agencies to complete and take responsibility for the draft Decision approving the adjustment, researching and supplementing the contents to have a basis for implementing the regulations on bidding.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACV reported to the Prime Minister on the progress of completing equipment installation, putting into operation and exploiting Component Project 3 and the entire Project.
