The dormitory of MR. Tran in Trang Cat Hamlet (Hac Dich Ward, Phu My Town) became more bustling and joyful on the weekend when this was also an activity with the participation of many members of the Youth Union - Boarding House Association.
Mr. Tran Nho Duc, Secretary of the Youth Union - Boarding House Association Mr. Tran, the owner of the boarding house, said that the boarding house area is currently operating 45 rooms with 89 people. The tenants are mostly workers and freelancers; of which about 40 are between the ages of 18-40. Realizing the need to organize to gather young people, in November 2022, the Ward Youth Union and the City Youth Union mobilized and established the Boarding House Youth Union - Boarding House Association. This is also the first Boarding House Youth Union in Phu My Town and the province.
“Before joining the Youth Union, I did the activities of giving gifts and encouraging young workers individually. Since the Youth Union was established, the young workers at the boarding house have been able to participate in propaganda activities, cultural and artistic exchanges, and receive many gifts... In addition, the evening and weekend activities have become interesting meeting places for everyone to unite, bond, and have a happier and more joyful life. From 7 core members, now there are many young workers who, although not participating in regular activities, also respond to the activities taking place at the boarding house,” Mr. Duc shared.
At the meeting of the Boarding House Youth Union, in addition to propagating the law and preventing and combating drugs, the important thing that the Hac Dich Ward Youth Union and the Secretary of the Youth Union always mentioned was to ask about the family, health, encourage the members and implement upcoming plans. Overcoming the confusion of the first days of establishment, the Boarding House Youth Union - Association of Mr. Tran has been operating stably and maintaining regular activities. With the advantage of the Youth Union living close to each other, the exchange activities have increasingly attracted a large number of members to participate.
After the Mr. Tran Boarding House Youth Union - Association, on March 26, the Hai Lanh Boarding House Youth Union - Association with 41 members was established by Phu My Town Youth Union in Tan Phuoc Ward. Thereby, to increase the attraction and encourage young workers to participate in the Youth Union - Association.
Currently a worker in Cai Mep Industrial Park (Phu My Town) and having lived in Tan Phuoc Ward for 4 years, Mr. Ho Minh Nghia shared: “At first, I was also hesitant and not very interested. However, when the Youth Union cared for me, gave me gifts and participated in interesting activities and playgrounds right where I live, it made everyone closer, more united and happier.”

Innovation to attract young workers
Phu My town has a large number of workers in industrial parks, companies and factories. There are many boarding houses for young workers aged 18-40. Therefore, the grassroots Youth Unions are looking for ways to gather and attract young workers right in boarding houses with many young people.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tra My, Secretary of the Youth Union - Association of Hai Lanh boarding house, said that workers have to work overtime and shifts, so they are afraid to gather or participate in regular activities. However, since the Youth Union - Association was established, this place has become a new meeting place for workers in the boarding house.
To establish boarding house Youth Unions and Associations, the grassroots Youth Union coordinates with the locality to visit each boarding house owner, knock on the door of each room to mobilize young workers to participate; thoroughly analyze for young people to understand the benefits of participating in Youth Union and Association activities; proactively combine and organize cultural exchanges or physical games so that young people have a playground.
Currently, Phu My Town Union has established and put into stable operation 2 Youth Union Branches - Boarding House Association Branches. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Kha, Secretary of Phu My Town Union, in addition to social security programs implemented right at the boarding house, useful activities such as: creating playgrounds for cultural, artistic and sports exchanges; donating playgrounds, bookcases... are given and handed over right at the boarding house area so that not only the workers but also their children can enjoy spiritual joy.
