Microsoft redesigns the Windows setup interface.

According to XDA Developers , in the latest version of Windows 11 for Canary Channel members, Microsoft has completely redesigned the operating system's installation interface with several notable changes. The new installation screen introduced in Windows 11 Build 26040 has replaced the purple background window with a white window, giving users the choice of repairing Windows 11 or completely reinstalling the system, and confirming that reinstalling will erase all data from the computer. Another improvement in this operating system is the Voice Clarity feature, which enhances the quality of the user's voice during video calls and generally across all communication applications. The AI ​​algorithm reduces noise and echo, but supported applications may offer the option to disable this feature when playing music or other audio through the microphone. Voice Clarity was previously available on Microsoft Surface devices, but can now be enabled on any laptop.

The Narrator functionality has been improved: including enhanced text recognition in images and support for reading documents, comments, bookmarks, and sentences in Word. Users can utilize voice output and voice control simultaneously. Additionally, they can command the Narrator to speak faster.

Several new features have appeared in the Windows LAPS system, including automated account management; the ability to disable certain characters that can cause readability issues in long passwords; and a passphrase option that allows users to create long passwords from actual words. Users can also choose a maximum password length using words and characters. Finally, LAPS helps users determine if their local password still matches their Active Directory password.

The new operating system also supports fast devices using the USB4 2.0 interface (up to 80 Gbit/second); WordPad has disappeared from the system package; the Task Manager icon has been updated; there are new options for compressing files when archiving (including compression level and archive format); when clicking the Share button in the browser, a system window opens with the ability to publish directly to social networks. If a Microsoft Entra ID is present, users can share content within Teams. The “Nearby Share” function has been optimized, with faster file transfers within the local network.
