Voz Forum announces temporary suspension of operations

On the morning of March 26, when users accessed the Voz forum, a notice of temporary suspension of operations was posted at the top of the page. “Starting from March 27, Voz will temporarily suspend operations for users from Vietnam. We will update more details later,” the technology forum shared.

Previously, the administrator account fRzzy, namely Mr. Bach Thanh Trung, announced that all users accessing the above forum from Vietnam must authenticate their accounts by providing their CCCD number. This is a policy in compliance with Decree 147 on the operation of social networks.

By noon of the same day, Voz updated the announcement, stating that it would be temporarily suspended for 1-2 days to fix the account verification method, and would not close the forum long-term. Tri Thuc - Znews contacted Mr. Bach Thanh Trung to investigate the issue, but this administrator said he was busy.

Voz, formerly Vnoczone, is a technology forum specializing in hardware and microprocessor overclocking, founded in 2001. Later, the forum expanded to include many categories, attracting a large number of users.

According to a report from SimilarWeb , the Voz.vn forum has about 10 million monthly visitors, ranking 86th in the country. This is also the Vietnamese social networking forum with the largest number of users. However, compared to Facebook and Instagram, the gap is huge.

Voz is registered under That Vi Dieu Company Limited, headquartered in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. The social network license was granted in 2019.

From December 25, 2024, Decree 147/2024/ND-CP officially takes effect. Accordingly, all accounts on social networking platforms must be authenticated by mobile phone number in Vietnam or personal identification number (CCCD).

In case the user does not have a mobile phone number in Vietnam, the account must be authenticated with a personal identification number according to the provisions of the law on electronic identification and authentication. This regulation applies to both cross-border and domestic users of social networking services.

The decree states that only verified accounts are allowed to post information, write articles, comment, livestream, and share content. Those who use the livestream feature for commercial purposes must also authenticate with a personal identification number.
