According to Neowin , a leaked Microsoft document has provided information about Sony's plans for the new PlayStation 5 (PS5) gaming console. Accordingly, in Microsoft's legal documents related to the ongoing lawsuit with the FTC, there was news that the PlayStation 5 Slim and a handheld device are expected to be released by Sony later this year.

According to the document, Microsoft clearly stated that Sony is preparing to launch a PlayStation 5 Slim version in 2023. Most importantly, the document also revealed that the retail price of this thin and light version is $ 399 (about 9.5 million VND).

Currently, if you want to own Sony's new console, you have the choice of a PS5 Digital Edition without a disc drive ($399) or a PS5 with a built-in disc drive ($499). If the information in the document is accurate, Sony's pricing strategy will put the PlayStation 5 Slim in the same price bracket as the Digital Edition, creating a dilemma for consumers.

Leaked Microsoft documents also suggested that Sony was planning to launch a handheld version of the PlayStation 5 later this year. However, that information turned out to be incorrect. Sony recently announced the hardware at the PlayStation Showcase event under the name Project Q.

The document does not mention any information about the third-party sources that provided the PlayStation 5 Slim news. However, the leak has sparked speculation about Sony's sales strategy for the rest of 2023.
