Devoting all his love to Barca and thinking it would be the only place in his career, Messi made a turning point to PSG two years ago and is now preparing to move to the US Major League Soccer (MLS) to play for Inter Miami, co-owned by David Beckham.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner will make his US debut in July, expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract in a multi-million dollar deal, partly funded by Adidas and Apple TV.
Bale has played against Messi many times in La Liga, in the fiery El Clasico matches between Real Madrid and Barca, came to the US last year, played for Los Angeles and won the MLS Cup before announcing his retirement earlier this year.
According to Bale, Messi will definitely like MLS because this tournament has less pressure, unlike when he played at Barca.
“There is a lot less pressure in MLS. At Real Madrid, if you lose, the world falls apart. You feel heavy, you feel down, you go home in a bad mood.
In America, people accept losing more easily because there are no consequences, no relegation.
When you lose a game, you look forward to the next one. People accept defeat and celebrate every victory as if they won a championship. Messi will definitely enjoy the atmosphere in MLS.”
Miami Miami is currently bottom of the Eastern Conference, having fired former Manchester United star Phil Neville days before Messi confirmed his move to the club.
