According to a new study, the iPhone 15 Pro is Apple's worst-rated flagship phone ever. On the review site PerfectRec , 73% of users on Google gave the iPhone 15 Pro a 5-star rating.
On a positive note from PerfectRec, however, the number of 5-star reviews for the base model and iPhone 15 Plus has increased compared to the previous generation.
To compile this data, PerfectRec analyzed more than 690,000 user reviews, finding that just 73% of customers gave the phone a perfect score. That’s down from the 76% the iPhone 14 Pro earned last year, which in turn was down 8% from the iPhone 13 Pro.
Notably, this is the second consecutive year that the iPhone Pro model has seen a decline in the number of 5-star reviews. This alludes to users' disappointment with the almost top-of-the-line model of the iPhone 15 series family.
Why high-end iPhones are underrated
There are a few potential reasons why the iPhone 15 Pro might not be as instantly popular as previous models. The new phone has been plagued with overheating issues, although an iOS update has fixed the issue.
Many users have reported experiencing home screen issues on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. On the iPhone 15 Pro Max, even when the user locks the device, the burned-in image still appears in an annoying, patchy manner. These are big problems for a brand new, quite expensive phone.
If you have an older generation iPhone and are considering upgrading, you'll probably be best served by the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models.
