Football Insider said, according to a source from Man City, the club is ready to spend money to bring in a "blockbuster" mid-season transfer, if Haaland's injury is more serious than expected.
Haaland suffered a foot injury and missed Man City's visit to Luton Town last weekend, on a day when Pep Guardiola's players struggled to come back to win 2-1 after four consecutive draws and losses.
According to coach Pep Guardiola, Haaland will have to sit out the final match in the Champions League group stage, Man City against Red Star Belgrade at 00:45 on December 14, as well as the match against Crystal Palace more than 2 days later (22:00 on November 16) in the Premier League.
However, he hopes his favorite student can go to Saudi Arabia to join the team to participate in the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup.
However, there has been information announced that Haaland's situation could be more serious and the 23-year-old star is at risk of missing the rest of 2023.
Julian Alvarez replaced Haaland in the Luton Town 1-2 Man City match, providing an assist for Jack Grealish to score the decisive goal to help the home team win, but played in midfield when Kevin de Bruyne was absent.
Haaland has scored 19 goals for Man City in 22 games in all competitions this season. In his debut campaign last season, he exploded with 52 goals in 53 games as the team won a spectacular treble.
One positive news for Man City while receiving news of Haaland's injury is that De Bruyne has almost recovered after missing the beginning of the season due to a serious injury.
