Positioned as a premium coffee outlet of Starbucks in Vietnam, the Starbucks Reserve store located on Han Thuyen Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City suddenly announced its closure from August 26.
Starbucks Reserve Han Thuyen is the only Reserve store in Ho Chi Minh City of the American coffee brand, where premium coffee flavors are introduced, prepared by coffee masters.
In 2021, Starbucks Vietnam also closed the store with one of the most prime corners in Ho Chi Minh City at the REX Hotel near Nguyen Hue walking street.
Currently, Starbucks only has one Reserve store left on Nha Tho Street, Hanoi.
Having been in operation for 7 years and always crowded, the closure of Starbucks Reserve Han Thuyen immediately attracted the attention of many people. Although this point of sale is closed, Starbucks Vietnam said it will soon return at another location.
Although Starbucks Vietnam did not give a reason for the closure of Starbucks Reserve Han Thuyen in its announcement, according to VietNamNet reporters, the American coffee company did not reach an agreement to extend the lease.
Starbucks Reserve Han Thuyen is a house with an area of 8.5m wide, one ground floor and two upper floors. It has a prime location opposite 30/4 Park and not far from Notre Dame Cathedral.
According to Ms. HTN, a real estate broker in District 1, the Starbucks Reserve Han Thuyen store is being offered for rent by the owner for 750 million VND/month. Customers are exempted from paying rent for 1 month for repairs and can take possession of the space from next month.
Ms. N. said that according to the information sent to the broker, if the customer signs a 5-year lease contract, they must deposit 3 months of rent. If they sign a 10-year contract, they must deposit 6 months of rent.
After 11 years in Vietnam, as of last May, Starbucks has a total of 108 stores. In Ho Chi Minh City, the American coffee company has stores located in prime locations such as Starbucks New World, Starbucks Nguyen Hue, Starbucks Mplaza, Starbucks Landmark 81, Starbucks Midtown Phu My Hung, etc.
