In recent days, there have been many cases of missing trains, with tickets no longer valid, forcing passengers to spend extra money to buy new tickets.
A representative of the Saigon branch of the Transport Joint Stock Company has just said that in the past few days, there have been many cases of missed trains. If a passenger misses a train, the ticket for that trip will no longer be valid, forcing them to buy a new ticket for another train (if available). It is forecasted that in the coming days, traffic density will increase, and the possibility of passengers missing trains may continue to increase.
To avoid missing the trip and having to spend more money on new tickets, the representative recommends that passengers arrange their work to be at the station about 30 minutes before the train departs to avoid missing the train or taking the wrong train.
According to a survey, as of January 14, there are still few train tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi from January 20 to 26, mainly for short trips to Phan Thiet and Nha Trang. In the opposite direction, after Tet from January 31 to February 3, tickets are almost sold out.
Similarly, with its own unique characteristics, air travel always has strict procedures and regulations for controlling passengers and luggage. During peak times, the sudden increase in the number of passengers will cause waiting times for passenger and security procedures to be longer than usual.
Speaking with VietNamNet, a representative of Vietnam Airlines Group recommended that passengers proactively check in online before their flight, arrive at the airport on time, and comply with security and safety regulations.
Specifically, passengers should check in online before the flight via the website, mobile application, call center or at self-check-in counters (kiosk check-in) within 24 hours before departure and check in luggage at separate counters at the airport.
Passengers who have checked in and are not carrying checked baggage can go straight to the security screening gate at the airport, saving a lot of time traveling and waiting. To avoid delays and help reduce the load on the terminal during peak periods, passengers should only be at the airport 3 hours before departure.
In case there is a need to purchase checked baggage outside the free allowance, passengers can order via the website, mobile application or at official agents at least 6 hours before departure time.
To complete airline procedures, passengers can use valid identification documents such as: citizen identification card, passport, driver's license, secondary identification information... Children under 14 years old can use birth certificate as identification document. However, children 14 years old and above cannot use birth certificate when completing airline procedures.
Noi Bai Airport also noted that passengers need to strictly comply with aviation security regulations, especially regarding the list of prohibited items to bring on board.
Accordingly, passengers should carefully check information about prohibited items such as flammable and explosive substances, weapons, or substandard lithium batteries... to ensure safety and avoid unwanted inconveniences during the check-in process.
After completing the procedures, passengers should immediately proceed to the security check, prepare their identification documents, boarding pass and neatly arrange their belongings and luggage in a backpack or handbag so that the security check process can be quick and smooth.
Passengers should also regularly monitor the gate information displayed on screens at the airport for timely updates.
