Attending the program were Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department - Mai Dang Thao Nguyen; representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade; Long An Electricity Company; Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union; leaders of the Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies and Enterprises and 300 Youth Union officials, members and youth.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, representatives of the units emphasized the significance of the Earth Hour campaign - a global activity to raise public awareness about energy saving, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting the environment.

At the same time, the program also calls on people to participate in turning off lights and unnecessary electrical equipment for one hour , from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on March 22, 2025, as a practical action to join hands in protecting natural resources in the context of increasingly complex climate change.

Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union of Agencies and Enterprises - Vo Thuy An shared: “Through the Earth Hour campaign, we hope that everyone, especially the young generation, will demonstrate their pioneering spirit in environmental protection through specific actions such as turning off lights when not needed, practicing a green lifestyle, using environmentally friendly means of transport, reducing plastic waste, recycling and spreading the green message to the community. More importantly, this is not just a one-hour campaign but needs to be maintained every day towards a sustainable future”.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan (Youth Union member of the Provincial People's Committee Office) shared: "I am always conscious of saving electricity by turning off electrical equipment when not needed. Tonight, I will respond to Earth Hour and encourage my family and neighbors to join in."
The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the two athletes who won first place in the men's and women's categories.
Right after the launching ceremony, the “Green Shift – Green Future” race officially took place with the enthusiastic participation of many union members and young people. The race has a distance of 4km for men and 2km for women, not only a sport activity to improve health but also conveys a strong message about green living – green action, raising public awareness about energy saving and environmental protection.

Mr. Truong Trong Thai (working at Duc Hoa Electricity - Long An Electricity Company) said: "Through the Earth Hour run, I want to send the message that each individual can contribute to protecting the environment with simple actions such as turning off electrical equipment when not in use, using energy-saving devices and limiting electricity consumption during peak hours, taking advantage of natural light and wind instead of using lights and fans all day long,...".

After moments of exciting competition, the athletes successfully completed the race, spreading the spirit of responsibility for the environment. The Organizing Committee awarded 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 5 consolation prizes for each male and female category, recognizing the efforts and enthusiasm of the athletes.
