Testimony of teenager who killed gay friend and robbed property

On May 20, the Criminal Police Department of Vinh Long Province temporarily detained Le Tan Dinh (17 years old, residing in Tam Binh district) to investigate the acts of "Murder" and "Robbery".

Initially at the investigation agency, suspect Dinh confessed that he met Mr. NMĐ. (26 years old, from Hoa Tan commune, Chau Thanh district, Dong Thap province, temporarily residing in Dong Thuan ward, Binh Minh town, Vinh Long) through social networks. On the evening of May 18, the two made an appointment to go to a motel in Dong Thuan ward, Binh Minh town to have homosexual relations.

During the meeting, the two had a disagreement over their homosexual relationship, which led to an argument. Suspect Dinh used his hands to strangle Mr. D. to death, then took the victim's phone and fled the scene.

At around 8:45 a.m. on May 19, the motel manager checked and discovered Mr. D. dead in the bathroom, without any clothes on, so he reported it to the police.

Upon receiving the news, the Vinh Long Provincial Police Department directed the Criminal Police Department to coordinate with Binh Minh Town Police to urgently investigate and track down the suspect. The Criminal Police Department examined the scene and performed an autopsy to assist in the investigation. The Vinh Long Provincial Police Department identified the suspect who murdered Mr. D. and robbed his property as Le Tan Dinh.

The investigation agency used mass mobilization measures and urged the family to request the subject to quickly surrender. At 5 p.m. the same day, relatives brought Dinh to the Binh Minh Town Police Station to surrender. Dinh admitted all his crimes.

The police recovered the stolen property, a Samsung phone, and issued a decision to temporarily detain Le Tan Dinh.
