Ms. Mai Lan, an employee of a media company in Dong Da district, Hanoi, said she had just received a notice from the school to pick up her child early.

According to Ms. Lan, the school said that due to bad weather and inconvenient traffic, the school board decided to let all students skip period 7 to have dinner and go home early.
Students taking the school bus will return at 3:35 p.m. Parents can pick up students not taking the school bus from 4 p.m.
Mr. Quang Tung, who lives in Ecopark, also received a similar notice from the school. Therefore, he had to leave work early to pick up his child on time.
"School will end at 2:30 p.m. Parents need to arrange to pick up their children. If parents have not picked up their children, they will be taken to the late drop-off room," said Mr. Tung.
Nguyen Sieu Primary School also issued a notice, allowing all students to be off from school from 1:30 p.m. on September 10. For students who take the school bus, the teacher in charge of the bus will contact the parents to agree on the pick-up and drop-off time. Families can arrange and contact the teacher to pick up their children early at school.
At the same time, all school clubs will also be closed this afternoon. The school also notes that in cases where parents cannot pick up their children early, the school will manage and return students as usual.
Many parents also shared that they received a notice from the school and if they want to pick up their children early, they can contact the homeroom teacher.
In order to promptly respond to the complicated developments of the current storms and floods, the Foreign Language Secondary School, University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has also decided to switch from in-person to online learning. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Hanoi is about to have heavy rain, some districts are at risk of flooding.
The meteorological agency warned that from around 3pm this afternoon, these convective clouds will first cause showers and thunderstorms in Gia Lam, Long Bien, Hoang Mai, Thanh Tri, Hoai Duc, Thanh Oai, and Ha Dong districts. They will then continue to spread to other inner-city districts of Hanoi. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.

The key areas at risk of flooding in Hanoi are the middle and banks of the Red River in Tay Ho, Long Bien, Hoan Kiem and Gia Lam districts.
Regarding the hydrological situation, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from now until September 11, there will be a flood on other rivers in the Northern region.
During this flood, flood peaks on small rivers in the northern mountainous provinces and rivers in the downstream areas of the Red River Delta - Thai Binh, coastal estuaries reached alert level 2 - alert level 3, with some rivers above alert level 3.
