Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will visit Arizona, New York and Washington DC during an 11-day working trip to the US starting today, October 5.

According to a statement from the Singapore Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Lawrence Wong's first working visit to the US since assuming the role of Deputy Prime Minister (June 2022) is built on the "strong and multifaceted relationship" between the two countries.
Mr Wong will visit the Peace Carvin II Squadron – the longest-serving overseas unit of the Singapore Air Force, which trains F-16 fighters at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona.
In New York City, Deputy Prime Minister Wong, who is also Finance Minister, will attend the launch of Enterprise Singapore’s new Global Innovation Center (GIC). The new GIC aims to support the expansion of Singapore-based technology startups into New York and the broader US market.
Enterprise Singapore - a government agency under the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry - has set up GIC centres in cities such as San Francisco, London, Berlin, Seoul and Bangkok.
In Washington DC, Mr. Wong will meet with ministers and senior officials of the Joe Biden administration, with discussions focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation in new and emerging areas. He is scheduled to deliver the opening remarks at the first-ever US-Singapore dialogue on critical emerging technologies.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will hold a dialogue with the Singaporean leader on October 13 as part of the ASEAN Leaders' Forum.
Mr. Wong visited the US in April 2022 as Finance Minister and attended the G20 and World Bank (WB) - International Monetary Fund (IMF) meetings.
Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo and Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Trade and Industry Alvin Tan will accompany Deputy Prime Minister Wong on the long trip.
