Da Nang popularizes 4 policies on creative startups

NDO - On February 21, the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang city held a conference to disseminate and guide the implementation of specific policies on science, technology and innovation, attracting 200 delegates representing departments, branches, organizations, individuals and businesses in the area.

Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly on the organization of urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city has opened up great opportunities for Da Nang.

In particular, science, technology and innovation are one of the important pillars, playing a role in promoting sustainable development, modernizing the economy and building the city into a major innovation and startup center of the region.

Accordingly, Da Nang has issued four specific policies on science, technology and innovation to implement Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly.

Specific policies include: Resolution No. 53/2024/NQ-HDND dated December 13, 2024 of the City People's Council stipulating priority areas; criteria, conditions, procedures and contents of innovative start-up activities, and innovative start-up support activities exempted from tax in the city.

Resolution No. 54/2024/NQ-HDND dated December 13, 2024 of the City People's Council stipulating the order, procedures, conditions, quantity, content and level of non-refundable support from the state budget to develop innovative startup projects in Da Nang city.

Resolution No. 55/2024/NQ-HDND dated December 13, 2024 of the City People's Council detailing the criteria, conditions for selection and procedures for registration, appraisal, and licensing of controlled testing of new technology solutions in Da Nang city;

Resolution No. 56/2024/NQ-HDND dated December 13, 2024 of the City People's Council regulating the exploitation, assignment, handling and funding support for the use of science and technology infrastructure assets in Da Nang city.

These are breakthrough policies, aiming to create favorable conditions for individuals, creative startups, and research and development organizations to access necessary resources and support mechanisms.

The conference introduced and guided organizations, individuals, and businesses in the city about specific regulations, procedures, and document components in 4 specific policies.

Ms. Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, said: "The Department hopes that organizations, individuals and businesses will master specific regulations and procedures, thereby being able to make the best use of the city's policies in the process of implementing research, development and innovation activities."

At the same time, the Department of Science and Technology is currently assigned by the city to develop an action program and plan to implement Resolution No. 57/NQ-TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

Ms. Thuc emphasized: “We hope to receive comments and suggestions from units so that the city can continue to review, supplement, and advise competent authorities on the most outstanding and effective policies and mechanisms to help Da Nang start-up businesses develop.”
